Editing the "contact us" form
 

Hi,
The "contact us" form has a lot of required entries that I don't need to be filled in. (Like physical address ans thngs like that.) How do I edit the form so that these things are not required. (And how do I remove the * next to the non-required stuff?

Search in the forums, this have been post it before

Thats in the /skin1/help/contactus.tpl file.

Just edit it manually to erase all lines you dont need to be required ( <font class=Star>&lt;&lt;</font> ).

REmember to also check out the error engine lines.

Thanks for the "nice" reply. I did search in the forums. Please, tell me, what phrase would you have searched for to find what I was looking for? I couldn't find it.

you also have to make sure you look at help.php (i think) to edit the required fields array

I used this to successfully alter my form too. I had deleted the fields but wasn't aware of the help file needing to be updated as well.

Please help!

I need to add a Bcc when someone submits via the contact us page. In admin I see where to change emails, but how would I keep that person AND have it Bcc'd as well?

If it's editing a file or files, which file(s) and where in the file and what do I add so it won't override email entered in admin?

You have to edit help.php and add another line to send email to second email, if you want to be able to change that email from admin you also need to make db entry for it
