Re: FacebookTab module released
Hello
A good addition to X-Cart. I want to ask 1. On webpage written "one-time fee" it means we will get all future releases or will get free update for v5. 2. I am not very perfect in php. But I can install X-Cart. A person who can install X-Cart can install this addon or it need some professionalism. 3. There should be some Discount Campaign so that One feel attraction. 4. I have two domains. Do one addon will install on both of them or I have to buy one for each domain. Regards Kashif |

That means a FacebookTab module license holder have free access for all future versions of the module for X-Cart v4.x Unfortunately, we are not sure about X-Cart5/LC3 as it is a new platform and there may be different license terms and conditions. > 2. I am not very perfect in php. But I can install X-Cart. A person who > can install X-Cart can install this addon or it need some > professionalism. If you can install X-Cart you will be able install the module, too. > 3. There should be some Discount Campaign so that One feel attraction. Thank you for the suggestion. > 4. I have two domains. Do one addon will install on both of them or I > have to buy one for each domain. Licensing for the module is pretty standard - one module license for one X-Cart powered shop. However, the same module can show products from the same X-Cart on multiple Facebook community/business pages. |
Re: FacebookTab module released

Hello Sorry about the difference (I also don't know :( ) But the practical example you can see as I have yesterday purchased the FacebookTab Module. http://url2add.com/facebook/ Regards Kashif |

See http://help.qtmsoft.com/index.php?title=X-Cart:Facebook_Tab regarding how to use the module. The FacebookTab module doesn't limit qty of products. > so whats the difference between this module & the Facebook > Connect thing? :) in everything! Facebook Connect and the module are different things |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Hey mates,
We just finished installing this app (meaning X-Cart staff installed it for us) and it is working quite well. We've not customized it fully yet from our side but if you want a live preview you can see it on this link https://www.facebook.com/pages/FinerRibbon/185696764782480?sk=app_190906177596622 If I can help with any questions, don't hesitate to let me know I'll be happy to be of help. |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Looks very good!
Quick question: Can multiple stores (with separate module licenses of course) feed into a single Facebook page? |
Re: FacebookTab module released
That's a good question Regs! I don't know though, we only have one store so we did not test it that way. Hopefully QT will post an answer here on that.

Re: FacebookTab module released

Yes, it can. You should create separate application for each store, since one application can create only one "tab" on the page. you can find the info how to create your own fb-app here: http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=431 Also our x-cart team can create these applications via special installation service. |

Good news!
Now it is possible to set the custom name of an application tab on your pages. Call your tab as you wish. Have a look for the screenshot in the attach. |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Maxim,
I have a site, gallery.imagesnap.com, which has several artist galleries. Can the Facebook Tab module be modified so each of my galleries can be displayed on individual artist's Facebook page? Thanks, Steve Manousos ImageSnap, Inc. |

Re: FacebookTab module released
This is VERY interesting.
Can it also add a shop tab to a personal profile? Since it can feed multiple Facebook pages, I'm thinking that our official corporate page would be the main location for it but that our salespeople might like to also have it appear in their own Facebook profiles. Marshall |

thank you for your words! Quote:
Unfortunately no. Facebook doesn't allow to add app's tab to personal profiles. You can use only business or community pages. Quote:
However, FB-tab can be added for many pages as you would like via special application. So, your partners can create their own business pages and add products tab to these pages. |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Can you track sales or any stats from Facebook?
Can you post(introduce) new products on your wall? |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Quote:
Unfortunately, it is not supported by default functionality. FacebookTab module doesn't change the X-Cart core at all (it has been done due to support as many X-Cart version as possible). However, we can implement this feature for you via our custom development service. Quote:
Yes, you can. To do it you should: 1. Set up your ProfileID in FacebookTab settings. 2. Make the needed products to show in FacebookTab 3. Open the tab and post any comment with checked "Post comment to my Facebook Profile" option. As a result your comment with link to your product will show on your wall. |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Darryl,
> Can you track sales or any stats from Facebook? There is no need to customize X-Cart. Xim assumed you were asking about built-in X-Cart stats system (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwC2CSsIbfY). However, you can track sales and stats from Facebook if you integrate X-Cart with Google Analytics. You'll be able to see visitors coming from Facebook and track their sales using "E-Commerce" section in your Google Analytics account. |
Re: FacebookTab module released
We just installed the module and installed to our FB page here http://www.facebook.com/BrooksRangeMountaineering?v=app_136267806421194 I have enabled it but it currently is not showing any products. I have left all of the configuration in x cart set to defaults for now just to get started.
Any ideas why no products would be showing? |
Re: FacebookTab module released
I installed the FB module in X-Cart but when I go to link the X-Cart APP to my business facebook page I hit accept to give it privledges and then the browswer window just refreshes a million times and nothing is ever added to my FB account. Any ideas?

Try to use it later, or using other browser. Sometimes Facebook works very unstable with application zone. |
Re: FacebookTab module released

I've tried it on IE8, Google Chrome and Firefox (and on different PCs) but I get the same result. As soon as I click to allow the X-Cart Shop app permission to access my FB data the address bar starts bouncing between apps.facebook.com and www.facebook.com/connect/.... If i close out and reload to facebook I can see the app listed under my privacy settings and can remove it but I cannot browse tothe app or it starts the browser refreshing again bouncing between the two previously mentioned sites. I am trying to add www.facebook.com/FromTheTopDancewear . Thanks, Eric |
Re: FacebookTab module released
ewhebert, please, post the ticket in the HelpDesk system. We will try to find the solution for you.
bwt, On our sides (and for many others facebook users) the app works well. It is Facebook :) |
Re: FacebookTab module released
I will try it a few more times today then open a ticket. I'm sure its Facebook in some way I just can't see why it is doing it.

Re: FacebookTab module released
Is it because it is a Facebook ad account with a Page but no true profile?
|
Re: FacebookTab module released

Yes, you should use your personal account to add tab to your pages. As soon as you match the page with FacebookTab you can switch to the page-mode. |
Re: FacebookTab module released
We added this point to the manual: http://help.qtmsoft.com/index.php?title=X-Cart:Facebook_Tab#Adding_to_Facebook
|
Re: FacebookTab module released
That worked, well atleast got me to another problem. I opened a ticket about it but I figure I may as well post it here as well. I get to X-Cart APP in Facebook where it wants the URL of my store, so I enter http://www.fromthetopdancewear.com/store/ and hit apply, the page refreshes and the URL field is blanked out with no reason as to why. I know the FB Tab module is running on my X-Cart and I added my Profile ID to it so I'm not sure where it is going wrong as I see no background information.
Hopefully it is not a big issue, I am on an older version of X-Cart though (4.1.11). |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Ok, its working great now. Apparently there is a problem with my Facebook account because under my mothers (who is the first admin of the stores page) it allows me to validate the URL.

Re: FacebookTab module released
just curious how this will work, now that the FBML appplication that allows tabs at the top of screen can no longer be used for new applications.
As of March 12 i thought all business page layouts were automatically converted to the new layout with the menu at the side. The xcart demo looks fine - has anyone installed it in the last week? |
Re: FacebookTab module released

Our team checked the FacebookTab on new pages view. It works well. And the extra bonus of the new layout - you can change the name of the tab! http://forum.x-cart.com/showpost.php?p=310948&postcount=11 |
Re: FacebookTab module released
I just installed this today on my Picture Frames store .
Firstly I would like to that Konstantin and his colleagues - their support is fantastic and deserves to be mentioned here. I think the FB control panel for pages, profiles, business pages etc is very poor and not at all intuitive - hopefully facebook will make the admin panel easier - but maybe not. With regards the FB tab module, it is great but I have issues regards - the quantity option. I dont think you can specify the quanity if you want to order 3 of the same product. Also some products I use - the price is variable and determined on size. That means there some products will be displayed as $0.00 - and only when you use a drop down product option - will you see the product price. The other option that would be nice to have is that on my product variant options the colour will change to reflect the customers choice - if that could be looked into it would be fantastic. Once again - thanks konstantin |
Re: FacebookTab module released
I have just installed the facebook mod. I have been looking for a solution that would give me a shopping function on my facebook page and I haven't been able to find anything that could do multi-currency and handle the fact that I have two sites in different countries and one common facebook page. This mod doesn't do it out of the box but x-cart made it work for me and I'm also very happy with the help from Konstantin and the support people.
I really like this as a solution to what I was trying to do. Because it's really pulling x-cart through as a feed from the store into a facebook tab, then I'm not dealing with separate inventory management or payment systems. |

The current restrictions of the functionality based on FMJS technology in Facebook. It is not much flexible and we had to cut JS-functionality. However we added to our roadmap to review the mentioned features and add it into new version of FacebookTab module. |

Re: FacebookTab module released
Apologies if this question has been asked before, but I would appreciate clarification on the following.
Say my store has 3 different brands (brand A, brand B and brand C) and each brand has it's own facebook page. Is it possible to ensure only brand A products are on the brand A facebook page, brand B products are on the brand B page and so on? Secondly then can I have a website facebook page which has all the brands on it? Thanks in advance. |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Quote:
i don't think is a complete answer to your question but it may help - x-cart's facebook tab module allows you to select which products will appear on your facebook store by category. so if your different brands have their own categories, then the module will do what you want out of the box (for one facebook page). otherwise, maybe you could ask qualiteam if they'll give you a quote on a custom feature that will allow you to select whether products show up in the store tab by manufacturer rather than category. you might also need some customisation to get one site sending feeds to 3 facebook tabs, i think it might be intended as 1 site; 1 facebook page. the customisation that i got them to do for me with this module wasn't expensive and worked well. |

FacebookTab allows to define which category will be shown on the facebook page. However to provide you with the ability to define different categories for the different FB-pages the module should be modified. Please, contact our sales team to get the additional information |
Re: FacebookTab module released
Facebook occasionally bombards my store with an ungodly amount of unregistered users and makes the store error out. I mean today I have over 21,000 unregistered users hitting the site from Facebook by using this tab. What is this and what can be done about it? Check this post for more details: http://forum.x-cart.com/showthread.php?t=58778
