Thank you. Do you have an estimate as to when a DB upgrader will be available?

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

On the design section it states "One page checkout. There are now two checkout options - Fast Lane Checkout or One page AJAX checkout.".

Does this mean it will even be a one page checkout with the X-Payments or will X-Payments create a second page to the checkout?

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

If using AJAX checkout and X-Payments, I believe there will be 2 checkout pages total. There is the AJAX check out page in x-cart and page that the cc details will be entered on in x-payments.

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

Has anyone able to get FedEx Real-Time Shipping working correctly on this ver 4.4 release?

I got the FedEx options configured and confirmed that it is working on "Test Realtime Shipping Rates Calculation" page. http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/571/fedextestrates.jpg

However, the "Shipping Method" is still erroring out during checkout with the infamous message "Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with a shipping cost estimate for this order". http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/1035/checkouterror.jpg

The FedEx Shipping Methods have already been enabled and destination zone configured. On the test item, the weight and package dimensions have already been set. What Am I missing? Thanks!

I've just downloaded and installed to have a bit of a test drive, and can't see the subscriptions module, or any subscription options in the products? Have you dropped this?

So is 4.4 good for live stores and has it been fully tested and free of bugs?

Subscriptions module was removed from v4.4 due to PCI-DSS requirements. You should use your payment gateway recurring billing instead. That's how it must be handled since July the 1st. The module wasn't compliant with the PA-DSS as it was created by us many years ago.

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

I am using this module with 'manual' payments - by manual I mean the payments are set up by paypal and worldpay using some mods to the payment system, but the removal of the paydates etc from v4.4 makes it impossible to use subscription products at all.

I do believe this could rather easily been made compliant rather than just removed. I offered to help with the subscriptions module a number of times...

Is there a LC to XC4.4 import script? I would like to do a bit of testing with 4.4.
I have a LC to 4.3 script - would that work?

Has anyone create a live store using 4.4 yet?

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

I don't think 4.4.0 shoud be used for live stores. To start developing on it is fine but live store after 4.4.1

I need to put up a store now and heard updgrade from 4.3 to 4.4 would be a nightmare...

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

Steve, just as an a side, does your cflsystems.com use x-payments (and 4.2.1?) or do you use some other pci compliant gateway?

cflsystems 08-11-2010 08:16 AM

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

I do have xpayments connected and working with 4.2.1 but not using it right now. Still in process of testing and making sure all is the way I want it.

So when is 4.4.1 expected to be ready?

@cflsystems - Found another possible pci solution. Company called Braintree. They have a PHP API that works seamlessly with any checkout page. I'm looking into the complexity of the integration right now.

Have you ever looked into this payment solution?

This has been discussed before. I think if you compare cost XPayments is a lot cheaper

We haven't removed GA support in v4.4
It should be the same as in v4.3

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

So there is one feature I still can't find in 4.4.0 and I know I posted it in ideas.x-cart.com - http://ideas.x-cart.com/forums/32109-feature-requests/suggestions/667011-upc-isbn-mnf-vendor-list-price-as-part-of-the-

So where is it? Or it was not implemented? We need this specially now when Google is starting to request UPC to be included with products feeds. XCart treats products variants almost as separate products and yet no way to assign additional info to them. Product extra fields are almost useless for products with variants unless they are global for the product. QT - please, we need this feature

Were the detailed image thumbnails ever addressed? In 4.3 the detailed images are cached into a thumbnail version but I never saw the cash in the 4.4 previews. Are the detailed images just resized w/ HTML like in 4.2 and below?

Not yet, I'm guessing QT is going to just provide upgrade packs to 4.4.1 (once released). Just a guess though.

Ya all good I've been out of the loop a bit because of a new site launching so I haven't really kept up on 4.4 and all the drama :)

Seems there is a problem with this. See https://bugtracker.qtmsoft.com/view.php?id=38336

What a rush! The team is working hard together with many users to solve all the bugs. I am afraid nobody will tell you for sure in this moment when 4.4.1 will be released.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Will the DB upgrade pack just be for 4.3.2? I'm currently running 4.3.0.

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

I understand why everyone is saying not to go live with 4.4.. But, I have a site that I am playing with that is a 4.3 Pro site. The site is technically live, but has no products loaded and there is no way t do a financial transaction. I haven't customized it at all and don't plan on doing so in the near future. It is a specialized consignment store, hence the Pro version. I don't see the point in going ahead with 4.3 as I would like to use X-affiliate and have some of the 4.4 features. I'm thinking of removing 4.3 and loading 4.4 and re-doing my terms, FAQ etc.. now. Could the changes between 4.4 and and a future 4.4.1 be that drastic that this would be a complete waste of time. I guess what I'm asking from the Beta testers is: will 4.4.1 be more than just a patch?

Bill

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

If you don't plan to be live for at least a month, then I would start at 4.4 and wait until 4.4.1 patch before going live. The checkout system is screwed up right now, so I am waiting for QT to issue a patch to at least be able to run test orders through with our gateway.

There are definitely alot more bugs in 4.4 than I thought there would be (go ahead guys, say I told you so), but like I said if your not gonna be live for awhile I would start with 4.4 like we are and hopefully QT with get rid of most major bugs by 4.4.1 release.

re: upgrades

Upgrades packs for 4.1.12 -> 4.4.0, 4.2.3 -> 4.4.0 and 4.3.2 -> 4.4.0 are being tested now. Should be released within next several business days.

Re: X-Cart 4.4.0 released

I started testing 4.4.0 on a dedicated server running CentOS 5.5 . However, it looks like the skin (any skin) does not load in Customer or Admin area. All I see is non-formatted text displayed without graphics (Not even broken graphics). The error logs do not show anything abnormal. Not sure where to look to fix that. I tried the installation twice already with same results.

Just a thought, did you run cleanup.php after activating the skin?
