Marketing Manager (Firetank)

I had MArketing Manager V3 years ago when we were on XC3.5, I'm looking for a more targeted newsletter system than we've currently got, so I was looking at upgrading to get MM for our current 4.1 site.

Is it worth it? I see it is still on V3 which we got 4years ago which is a long time in ecommerce, and searching the forum, 6 months ago they said they were working on V4, but still no news?

Should I bother? or look for another solution? Is anyone using this? does it help? have people stopped using it and moved onto something else?

Thanks,

Most of my clients use a third party system like Mailchimp, Icontact, Constant Contact, etc. The reporting, spam prevention, etc is well worth it.

I've been looking at Mailchimp as it seems to be popular at the moment,

Thanks,

I agree. Marketing Manager Pro is excellent at lots of things but not at newsletter sending/management.

Started using MailChimp a few months ago and it is like night and day.

Hi,
How do you guys use the MM3 with a third party email service? My biggest issue is finding the target audience for particular newsletters. I am currently using I-Contact. Not thrilled with templates and lay-outs but it delivers. Never tried MailChimp. Would love to make targeting more automated. There are just not enough hours in a day! Any suggestions?

apparently it is common knowledge that Marketing manager will slow your site. I didn't find out until it was installed and sales dropped. nice statistics- but the price of a slow site?

Is that right? Darn, just had installed. Did you disable the Advanced Statistics Module that is included in x-cart?

I am also having a heck of a time with the email templates. Can't get the WYSIWYG, it just not there. Does any one else have it? I have a custom html template I want to use. Saved the template but it is not available on the "Send Normal Newsletter E-mail" area. I looked at the help but could not find much about it.

It would be helpful to get the macros for the templates too. I thought I saw it before but can't seem to find it now.

Marketing manager can slow down your site if you have YEARS of data in it. They provide an easy tool to purge old statistics of web site tracking. Pretty simple to do, just FYI. It's an excellent tool we've been selling and using since 2004. We have to purge the data every once in a while since we've been online since 2004 with a store using it.

For the WYSIWYG, use IE and you should see it.

Thanks,

Carrie

Does anyone know when Marketing manager will run under X-cart version 4.4.1?

Like Carrie said, this is only true if you have years and I mean years of stats on there which you arent archiving off data etc. I've been installing this for years, as far back as running it on a 3.x store and never noticed slow down. The only slow down you might get is if you use it to the full advantage and you get overloaded with visitors ;-)

I'm in the process of testing all the mods little by little. A lot of the database records, tables and names have been changed a LOT on this present 4.4.x release.

Soon as I have anything I will gladly post here. I'm also working on a list of 4.4.x mods that we have running out of the box as well.

Feel free to nudge me for any updates etc.

Sparks,

Can I turn off the Advanced Statistics in x-cart now? Will I miss any information not covered by MM Pro?

Re: Marketing Manager (Firetank)

Ah I appeared to have missed a thread here.

A lot of customers choose to turn off the stats because they can get all that and more from MM. The best course of action is to not use it, use mm and then make a decision based on that.

BIG news on 4.4.x mods due this week. I'm in the final stages of testing them ALL this week.

The simpler ones like the Advanced Instant Product Search work right out of the box. Like I say this week is going to be a busy one!

Anyone know if this works on 4.4? There site states it does but the version information only goes to 4.3.

Thanks,

At the moment I'm presently doing the last stages of testing for 4.4.x. A whole heck of things were changed in the DB that weren't announced but we are getting there.

I'll post on the forums as and when 4.4.x testing is done but by all means, feel free to PM me for updates etc

Cheers

Yes Marketing Manager Pro is X-cart 4.4.X compatible. The Marketing manager 3.0 for 4.4.X has actually had many items rewritten to take advantage of features of the X-cart 4.4.X database so in many cases runs even more efficiently.
