Xcart 3.5.1 is now in your file area along with Upgrade kits that take you from

Sessions of type "1" and "2" (which are build-in PHP sessions) are marked as DANGEROUS and are not recommended to use.

i can see the changelog , but not the upgrade kit

I have the Admin 3.5.1 upgrade and 3.4.10 but no 3.5.1 with my HTTPS fix

The changelog announcement *always* comes before the upgrade kit. Wait an hour or two and you'll see it...

it is available now - i dl'd it about an hour ago (2PM EST)

it is in the file area, not your personal file area

If your xcart is vs 3.4.10, do you need an upgrade kit that is 3.4.10 to 3.5.0 or 3.5.1?

Or can I upgrade from 3.4.10 directly to 3.5.1 using one of the other current upgrade files?

I have not seen anything on this.... :?

Which means that it is available AT THAT MOMENT, and if you think logically, why are you going to make an anouncement like that if it is not READY ???

What I mean here is that when people see the post they just rush to their file area to get the goodies (like myself).

3.5.1 was delayed for 1-1,5 hours to fix two unpleasant bugs. We sorry for any inconvenience.

causes a few problems in phpmyadmin sometimes

Why are the versions so buggy, I know that they are development versions but they should be tested by the xcart team first throughly before posted, I like to use stable stuff, like 3.4.10, although I like the new goodies in 3.5.0 pack, I dont like to feel like a guinee pig.

You have two choices

1 - wait an extra few months while the whole thing is tested inside out and so has very few bugs left.

2 - use the stable version for your live store and use the new version with your fingers crossed today

Its the nature of the beast when it comes to software / programming etc.

Well, thank you for pointing this out. I prefer to use the stable version for now, since Im new to Xcart. When I have more knowledge about the system I will start using development editions.

I'd rather do this as well BUT I noticed a major difference in the way names for the HTML catalog pages are generated in 3.5.1 as compared to v3.4.9. So, if you stay with the older version and with time your HTML catalog pages get (hopefully) indexed by search engines , then if you switch to the new version you'll have static HTML pages with totally changed names. And this puts you back to square 1 ...

Well you are right at that, I also prefer the new version since it has new and interesting features, but I am tired of battling with it for the moment, too buggy and I am just starting to understand it, maybe in another 2-3 months I can handle bugs myself.

The path for css & images is wrong !

I'm already on 3.4.10 very stable, but I'm also going to see how 3.5.x evolves.

I'm in 3.5.1 and I'm happy.
the upgrade was a pain but i'm happy now :? :o

But as I have seen on this board, 3.5.x is still having some issues.

What are the differences between 3.4.10 and 3.5.1?

Is there a list of what is new in 3.5.1 that is not in 3.4.10?

read the changelog at the start of this thread or in the news and announcemnets forum

I am not looking for a changelog. I need the comparison of features and differences between 3.4.10 and 3.5.1. Not bug fixes but features. In other words, why would I upgrade to 3.5.1? What does 3.5.1 have that 3.4.10 doesn't. That's all :)

Well payment modules are all submitted to versions, no matter what version they are (I think). But regarding upgrade, what I have seen is that 3.5 looks promising, very nice, but it is still in development, and like Shan once said, it will probably take at least 2 more months to get it stable, so I prefer to stick to 3.4.10 stable for the moment.

If anyone has php accelerator running on their servers make sure you disable it BEFORE installing 3.5.X branch.

It's caused alot of grief for many people. Turn php accelerator off install the new version, finish designing it and then you can turn it back on otherwise you'll have random cache problems and corrupted displays from the word go.

3.5.X branch seems to suffer from this more than the older versions it's certainly something that changed in smarty. :roll:

If anyone knows the correct settings for php accelrator so we can avoid this please let us know! The default settings can play havoc with x-cart and x-affiliate.

Server and apache resets can cure some problems but they resurface again later :?

Yet another issue with this Accelerator, wonder if anyone has tried out pure Zend for the change?

Well my affiliates are not working :(

The upgrade was not working, so I used the same DB, new php files + templates + sql.diff (3.5.1 distro upgrade)

The problem is that now my affiliate module (i've installed 3.5.1 version) is not working !

I can register as an affiliate, but when i go to Partner commissions - Show All -> "There are no partners" so i cannot apply an Affiliate plan for my affiliate.

The property is working for the Partners created in 3.5.0, but it cannot find any Partner created under 3.5.1
