4.3 How Change "Company name" ?
 

I tried to read the forums and could not find a clear understanding simple change or topic for changing the "Company name" to Mywebsite.
I am surprise there no topic on this. I think the manual needs to be revised because I know everyone is not going to have "Company name" I feel like everyone left me out and I have fend for myself asking. I look at simple one and it said change the language txt or label or errors. I need pictures to understand or like say select "Text" in box. Then change Varaible "txt_" and Then type in your own name in the memo box. Something clearly simple like this. The other meanings feels like I am trying to do much at one time. I need better instructions or we need to rewrite the questions part it. so how do i change the name? i been trying for 3 hours now. Still no available answers yet.

okay when you say admin are you talking bout inside the admin folder and find a file called company_option.php ? or go inside administration and find a link called "company options" i still cannot find it.

No. Login to admin side of your store - www.mydomain.com/admin; then go to general settings/company options (left menus - administration) and there you can change all details about the company. I think this one is covered in the manual

I am on GOLD 4.3 version, When I click on Administration on back store. I have the following options:

Administration
Summary
DB backup/restore
Modules
Languages
Static pages
Speed bar
Webmaster mode
Edit templates
HTML catalog
Images location
Patch/Upgrade

I went to Administration in back store and found "General Settings" under Settings. Then i found "Company options" Then i see an empty box. I had already type my company name in the Company name [ my company ] and Store name in [ my company store ] . I still have not seen any changes to "Company name" in the front of the main website www.mywebsite.com the past 4 hours. Is this a major error in database or looking in wrong place??? ](*,)

Ok, I need you to put that in your signature as requested, just replace the question you have there now with your version.

Try clearing your template cache - it is under the 'summary' area.

Bailnor, I actually do not know what you are talking about? i click on the link but it just says read the manual. I thought i put 4.3 How Change "Company name"? I thought i put the 4.3 version in it??

I dont know how to replace my question with my Gold 4.3 version also. I think I know what your talking about. I do not kno who how to clear templete cache memory also in summery.

4.3 is very different than other versions.

Okay, I cleared my template cache.
Clear templates cache, but "Company name" still hangin on strong.

I think you mean the logo?
The easy way is to just replace the company_logo image with your own logo.
I do that for all my images since I don't want to break anything.
The manual says to it this way.

Edit Template> Images > custom> etc etc..

I have changed all the names and logo. But, when I do test purchase, in the Invoice, says "your company name" so, it did not change the name in the invoice. Please anybody advice. Thanks

For this to work you have to rename your own image to the name of the image you want to replace. Also, make sure the check box that says to replace images with the same name is checked on.

Otherwise, you'll have to find all the codes that are using this image and rename them one by one!

Your invoice will have seperate image Source where image is >
skin1/images/companyname_small.gif

The invoice uses separate image to show the logo. You have to edit skin1/mail/html/order_invoice.tpl and replace the image there with your own

It has changed. Thank you. Also, I would appreciate any other advises to set up. I did fix couple things, but I am lost. I just want a simple store to run and to change all the names and logos, but I guess not too easy for me. I appreciate your help.

Thank you so much for the info. However, that help link did not answer my question. I have already change the logo for storefront, and invoice.

But, I am wondering if I am able to change the logo at the Admin log-in page. For example, where I log-in, I want to change the x-cart from there because I have the x-cart pro and when I give the link to the providers, they will see this logo and I would not like that. If you could help me, I would appreciate that.

Have you tried to familiarize yourself with webmaster mode, and the debugging console?

If you run webmaster mode and allow for pop ups a box will show up, with a list of templates. As you hover over them the associated portion of the website will be highlighted. This will show you which templates to look in.

Ashely, thank you. Indeed, I tried the Master Mode, but could not figureout. The logo has changed in the invoice and storefront, but it did not change in the Admin Areas Where the admin or provider log-in to the website. I would appreciate if you could help me with that.

Thank you Ashely, Yea I did find the location, but I don't know how to replace it. Like where should I go to replace the name. I already have the new image uploaded, but cannot replace with x-cart.

because i cannot replace that logo under the images. just like i replaced the invoice and customer front page.
