Hey Dongan,

Sending customer email to mailchimp list- You can use the module to send the newsletter subscriber to the mailchimp list. When the customer sign up for the newsletter in the site his email address can be mapped to the mailchimp list.

Is it only the email address that is mapped or can other fields be included?

Cheers,

Regs.

We can pass other values like name etc that needs bit change in the code. Please email us the changes you want to sales@mercuryminds.com. We can look at the possibilities.

Thank you.

Thanks, I'll follow-up on that question in the future by email.

In the meantime, if we use the current x-cart subscribe newsletter function, how will your mod/add-on help us move these members into mailchimp?

Cheers,

Regs.

If you use current x-cart subscribe newsletter & our module is enabled, the member email account will be passed to mailchimp list automatically. Similarly during registration, if the opt in for newsletter subscription, the details will be passed to mailchimp list. If you bother about the existing subscribers those who are before installation of this module, then, you have to import them manually one time.

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

Tye,

I do not have this, but maybe you could explain it a little better for me. I have tried to look at dongan's site, but I can not find any details at all - only a buy now button...

Anyway, does this replace x-cart's list or does it sync it to x-cart's list? That is to say, when a customer opts into a newsletter now, do they get added directly to mail chimp only or do they get added to both mail chimp and x-cart's list?

Also, does this work if you have more than one newsletter list?

Thanks a lot.

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

Dongan,

Thanks for the link!

After looking over the page, I was not able to answer my previous question. What exactly is its process?

Does it add new subscribers to x-cart's built in list and then add them to mail chimp or does this cause the people to go directly to mail chimp and skip over x-cart's list?

Also, does this support multiple lists?

Thanks.

Tye 03-30-2010 10:55 PM

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

Well - briefly:

If someone subscribes to an x-cart newsletter from an x-cart form or the register page, then the email address is instantly mapped across into the mailchimp account with first name and last name.

The email is still subscribed to the newsletter within x-cart.

Unsubscribe works the opposite way - deleted from both mailchimp and x-cart.

You can also use the Mailchimp 360 commerce - which enables you to send a email blast out with Mailchimp - and track the results through your x-cart store... I haven't done this yet - but can't wait.

To set that up for this module - you just check a box :)

edit - it supports multiple lists

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

Tye,

Thanks for the explanation. So when deleting a user, can you delete from either mail chimp or x-cart?

Also, out of 10, how hard would you say this mod was to install? 10 being the hardest.

Just to make sure, all other email functions of x-cart are still handled by x-cart, correct?

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

The mod is awesome and the support was great!

I'd give it a 2 in terms of installation (on Pyro's scale).

All 'other' email functions are still handled by x-cart.

The most time consuming part you will have is setting up all the opt-in/welcome emails/pages on the mailchimp side :)

Dongan 03-31-2010 09:20 AM

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

Hi James,

It would not affect the default X-Cart mail part. No Email functions/features of X-Cart will not be affected.

When a user is deleted, they will be removed from X-Cart database automatically by X-Cart. Our module will remove the user from Mailchimp part.

Regarding installation part, our module comes up with installation, uninstallation & user manual documentation. so, it is easier for you. In case of problems, you can contact us. We are glad to help you!

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

For the folks that have installed this and use AlteredCart's One Page Checkout (for 4.3), are any changes required to the OPC template? News.php works fine, but I can't seem to capture the details via OPC. The API list in MailChimp tells me: campaignEcommAddOrder

I will also shoot MM an e-mail and see if they have a solution. They are in India, and thought I would try here first... Will post a follow up if I hear from them.

Thoughts?

Wonderful. The patch has been applied (2 edits, 1 file) very easily. After I send out a newsletter I will report back with how everything goes (Removals, Ecomm360, etc). Everything now seems to be working.

If you're looking for a drop in solution to replace the built in x-cart software, this will definitely do it. Product support and the module have both been excellent!

Hi Vera,

It works well without any issues in live sites together. Both modules will not conflict. However, if you are talking about integration between Marketing Manager Pro and Our Mailchimp module, then you need to post your specific questions either here or at sales@mercuryminds.com. We shall try to answer. Thank you.

Donogan,

Just found your threads about this product - thank you. I have a couple questions for elaboration:

- Field mapping: Can you explain what fields can be sent to mailchimp? We'd for sure like to keep the folliwing synced between email and x-cart: first name, last name, complete address signup date, membership type (we have a sliding scale of wholesale discount customers). Does it support this?

- Autoresponder emails: We'd like to use an email tool like mailchimp to send out automated emails based on a sale, registration only or general email list signup. How would this work? Is it possible to have a different email stream depending on which type of the above?

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for your queries.

Field mapping: By default, first name, last name are mapped. If you want to map the address & membership type, yes. We can do this for you with bit more changes in code. Please order the module along with installation services & we can add these fields and give it to you.

Auto Responders: Your query is not much clear. Anyway, i try to answer little bit more with two contexts.

1) Auto responders based on the list: Basically mailchimp does support to respond via auto respond feature per list. If there are three lists, each list will have its own auto responder message.

How can we achieve this?

Without any code changes: Create different newsletter lists in X-Cart & Mailchimp, map them. when the customer subscribes to that particular list, they will be added to the related mailchimp list, receives the corresponding autoresponder.

With code changes/Customization: Create 3/4 lists in mailchimp like premier (order cost ranging from 1000-2000$), gold (order cost ranging from 500-1000$). We can alter the code of our module based on the order total, we can push the customer to particular email list. Auto responder will be triggered based on the list.

2) Auto responders based on purchase date: Create two lists (Recent customers/Old customers) in mailchimp & set a date example 01 Aug 2010 (this is called 'trigger date' in mailchimp for each auto responder). The idea/tweak here is "whenever a customer is making the purchase, they can be put it to particular list. Mailchimp will take care of rest based on the date you set, it will trigger automatically the auto responders". In this case, if you set the trigger after 01 Aug 2010, all the persons who placed into that particular list after 01 Aug 2010 will receive auto responders. If you set the trigger before 01 Aug 2010, all the customers placed into that particular list before 01 Aug 2010 will receive auto responder. This is quite handy to manage holidays sale with discounts at certain intervals.

Please note that it works with "douple opt-in" & you need to meet 'auto responder eligibility criteria'.

Definitely, few things are possible with tricky solutions & bit more code changes. Please contact our sales team at sales@mercuryminds.com. We can certainly help you.

For the old customers, you don't need to perform any upgrade to this version since it is not major release.

Re: X-Cart - Mailchimp Ecommerce 360 integration module

Hi,
I purchased and installed the mod, looks like it works except there is no listing id area on the module settings in admin, so subscriptions are added to the wrong list. Any suggestions? Also, I was under the impression I would have more control over the sign up form and use the sign up form created in MailChimp. That is needed for the list segmentation. I did not see any custom forms in the cart when a test subscription was done, only the standard x-cart form. I suppose the list mapping is limited and does not support segmentation?

Also on step 6 of the checklist, which management page is it referring to? In Mailchimp? In News Management in x-cart?

Thanks!
