More than 3 columns product display in 4.2.1 (Solved)
 

Hi All,

After going through the forums I've only found answers on how to change this in older versions of X-Cart.

I'm trying to get 4 columns up on my listing page, looked in products_t.tpl and have noticed this: {$config.Appearance.products_per_row*2-1} but changing these numbers to 4 doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any help would be much appreciated 8)

I have 4.2.2 installed and I am wanting to do the same thing. Will this work with that?
I am hoping when you say that it only works with 4.2.1 that it will not work with older versions.

So I made my site 4 column but now the 4th column is under the right menu.

I am viewing in IE8 on a fairly wide screen and it looks fine. I shrunk my screen width and it still lines up correctly - perhaps you've fixed it?

No, I haven't. When viewed on a 13" laptop the 4th column disappears under the right hand column. I need this to adjust for those who have these smaller screens.

May be a dumb question but can you then still display in 1-3 columns?

For X-Cart 4.2.1 you should just apply the following SQL patch:

UPDATE xcart_config SET comment="Display products list in multiple columns (1-4) (leave empty to use standard format)", value="4", validation="^[0-4]?$" WHERE name ="products_per_row";

After that your products will be displayed in 4 column.

Please not:

1. Before apply the patch please lake a backup of your database
2. This solution suitable only for X-Cart 4.2.1 version.

Yes, seems to work in 4.3.0.

Yes, this increases the limit set in appearance options from 3 to 4.
So you can now still enter a value - it doesn't fix it to 4, it just ups the limit.
At the same time though, it is changing the value to 4 when you apply the patch, so that you don't have to change it in admin, but you can if you want.

I like the 4 column product display. It looks really good. I have the 3 column and wanted to ask how you added quantity and buy now and if it would work for 4.1.11? Thank you in advance for any help!
