Checkout 1
 

This is not a Checout One problem as it happens even when I turn off C1 in the modules section.

When someone goes to checkout, if they leave checkout and go back to the web page the cart empties. I have blocked all links that allow you to exit from checkout 1 but the customer will hit the back button and it will dump the cart content. Any ideas how to fix this????

Have you heard from Bill on how to correct it?

I would hate to have to dump something that I paid $169 for because of this.

OK I have turned off Checkout One until this can be fixed. Better to have the old checkout that is slower than one that dumps cart content.

Balinor have you ever made the one page checkout you were working on public?

Not the same problem, but we do get people calling to say they are unable to checkout as the page just keeps flashing and reloading.

Get lots of orders so does not happen all of the time but am beginning to wander how often it does happen and how much business is lost due to it.

I had noticed through users online that there would be a cart with several items in it, then a new cart with the same contents that started about 6 seconds after the last activity of the first cart. I played around with it and every time you left C1 after entering it the cart contents were dumped. I have tried to contact Bill at Altered Cart, but contact us says no longer monitored and the website which "is going through major upgrades" won't allow you to register unless you are buying. I am really frustrated over this one.

What version of the OPC are you using?

Unfortunatly I have no idea what version other than 2008. I just went through a few of the php files to see if they had a version number but only a copyright date.

If you look at your original install files, you will see this - either in the zip name, or a file in the root files.
Anyway, I've just sent you the latest version by email - which is 1.3.9 - I doubt you have this, unless you recently ordered it - and if it's from 2008 you haven't. Try upgrading if you fancy it.

I just heard from Bill and this is NOT a C1 problem. I turned off C1 and in regular x-cart checkout it does the same darn thing.

Yep, we discovered that this morning too - seems to be a 4.1.12 issue, not a OPC issue.

So what happens from here?

X-cart has said that 4.1.12 was the last of the 4.1 line.

I know I was running smooth under 4.1.9. I would go back to that except for the security issues.

Not sure if 4.2 is stable, 4.3 is due out in less than 30 days and v.5. is due in 6 months. So here we have QT with their hands in three different pots and right now the fourth original pot is broken. Kind of presents a delima on what to do.

Padraic you are a pretty rational and well thought out person, what way are you leaning with this issue?




Again I want to let people know that this is not a Checkout One problem. Bill Brewer of Altered Cart contacted me within 17 minutes of my support ticket to him. (Kudos for great customer service) He was the one that noticed the same problem even though I had turned off C1 in modules. he also offered to look at my X-cart to see if he could find the problem. So Bill went above and beyond and has set himself in the class of only a handful of vendors on here.

you can patch 4.1.9 w/ security patches. i did, and I am not leaving 4.1.9 until there is something that actually works and is rock solid.
