eBay API Inventory Sync

I have created a a script that synchronizes the inventory levels between my eBay and X-Cart store, it will end eBay listings when inventory runs out via any change at the store and also adjust store listings when an item sells on eBay.

Would any one be interested in a Add-on like this.

Right now it runs on X-Cart 4.0.something but I think I am hoping to upgrade my site to the latest version soon.

The script runs in the background with no user intervention.

I have put a lot of hours into building this script and it takes a little setting up for each eBay account, so if someone is interested I would probably have to charge quite a bit for installing etc, just want to let everyone know that this is available.

Moving to Third Party Add-Ons, the Completed Custom Mods forum is for posting free, completed code only.

Does anyone know if there is any other software that will do what the op's script does?

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I highly recommend SafetyNetWeb's Auction Manager Pro. It launches a product to eBay, syncs inventory (if you choose to). It is a great module. I am not affiliated with them but I am a very happy user. The module keeps getting better all the time. If you have any questions, just ask.

Their support is one of the best! So worth the modest investment.

Hi, i already have that one but i need something more powerfull, if it did a 2 way realtime synch then it would be excellent.

Not sure if I understand what you mean by two way sync.

This is how I do it - if I have say 5 of a particular product, I send 3 to eBay keep 2 in my website. The site shows 2, eBay shows 3. If none sold and the item ends on eBay, then it goes back to the store/site inventory.

Did you mean you wanted to launch all 5 then have it take it off the total of 5 being 2 on the cart and 3 on eBay?

Re: eBay API Inventory Sync

I want it to not take any out of my inventory unless one sells on ebay, if the inventory changes on the site then that should be reflected on ebay, that way it would prevent overselling and not take any from the site when there is no need to.

Hi if you'd like to download your won auctions from eBay check out our module here.

http://www.kosmoscentral.com/cart/ebay-orders-download-integration-p124c36pg1.html

It's the standard version and the PRO version (coming in near future) will have two way integration thus pushing your product items you choose to eBay for auction.

Re: eBay API Inventory Sync

CycloneUK,

You can choose to have the SafetyNetWeb mod keep inventory or not. If you set it to keep inventory, it will take the item from inventory when it is listed. If it is not sold it will return it to inventory when the listing ends. If it is sold it does not return the product to inventory.

Since almost all our products are unique, I chose not to have it keep inventory so it is simultaneously on the site and on eBay. If it sells, I manually change the inventory.

When you listing on ebay, where do you put the x-cart SKU? I would like to make sure the SKU number is in the downloaded quickbooks transaction to make our bookkeeping easy. But somehow, looks like ebay listing does not have the SKU field...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So is the SafetyNetWeb's Auction Manager Pro is currently the best?

Can SafetyNetWeb be trusted? I contacted them twice, with no response over a week.

Hi,

I can vouch for them. I have used their modules for almost 2 years now and they are generally very responsive and have wonderful customer service. Did you use the Support Ticket system?

Hi, Pengrus,

That should work better. I only contact them through the support system.

Re: eBay API Inventory Sync

The SafetyNetWeb Auction Manager website doesnt really explain what, if any, inventory integration happens between X-Cart and eBay and they don't exactly seem the most responsive of companies.

My understanding is that their product "allocates" stock to eBay listings, removing it from X-Cart inventory for the duration of the listing, then returning unsold stock to X-Cart inventory at the end of the listing.

Anyone know of a product that does "proper" stock management between X-Cart and eBay? Amazon as well would be great but perhaps to big an ask? The ideal solution would be to have the same inventory available via all channels and remove from stock only when sold.

To give them some credit, I asked the question again via their contact form and they got back to me within a few hours (on a Sunday too!) and confirmed it does work as suggested above.

So, the hunt for a solution for integrating X-Cart and eBay goes on...

Yes, I was hoping that it does proper stock management, we bought it and it turned out to be absolutely pointless. You still have to adjust stock manually - let's say you have 5 items, 2 are listed on e-bay and 3 are in the shop. If 3 shop items sell and you want to replenish with the remaining ones from e-bay you'd have to adjust e-bay listing manually to 1 and add 1 back to the shop inventory. Really, I see absolutely NO advantage in having this module and I will be requesting our money back.
Very disappointed..:(

I use Linnworks, works wonders with X-Cart, eBay, Amazon and a few others and is quite cheap.

Re: eBay API Inventory Sync

Hi cycloneuk, thanks so much for the recommendation, this could be exactly what we've been looking for. However, not sure about the cheap part - did you purchase the license for 450 pounds?

So, it definitely maintains stock in both directions - ends an e-bay listing if stock in the store is reduced to 0 and the other way around? from reading the description it seems that way.

cycloneuk 03-07-2010 01:58 AM

Re: eBay API Inventory Sync

Yes, it will fully manage the correct stock levels in all directions. I pay around ё40+ a month for Linnworks and the Anywhere addon, you get support included with that.

I have been using it for around 6 months nearly and couldn't manage without it now. Support is great and new versions are released around every 2 to 3 weeks. When you compare it to some similar systems like eseller pro, it is quite cheap and probably does a better job.

I'd like to respond to this post although it's very old. There is a way to sync your products with eBay through X-Cart. It is an integration developed by Kosmos Central. You can find more information on it here: http://kosmoscentral.com/ecommerce/m...ntegration.php

Kosmos Central's integration for eBay allows you to manage inventory, pricing and order processing for eBay and your online store. It is pretty quick to upload inventory to eBay, you can easily manage eBay products from your X-Cart store, and choose which eBay categories your products appear in, as well as automatically download eBay orders to X-Cart.

The integration has also gotten good reviews from customers like charmme.com.au, who says: "I have been looking for a cost effective solution to the issue of syncing our inventory between our ebay store and our xcart website for about three years. Prior to this we had a terrible experience with Channel Advisor which never really worked for us. Finding the ebay module for xcart through the xcart website was very fortunate... We have been selling professionally on ebay for about six years and through my involvement with PeSA, I am very confident that there is a considerable market for your product among existing ebay sellers who are looking to expand into a website of their own while still running their ebay store. Being able to manage the two sale channels through the one xcart backend while still allowing ebay and the xcart store to maintain their own checkouts is a real attraction and strength".
