Naming static pages

Greetings - I have created a static page with the name I want it to have but there is an additional pg-1.html added to it. Name created about-our-programs.html - resulting link is about-our-programs-pg-1.html

I'd like to just have the name without the additional pg-1 added to it.

Thanks for taking the time to assist me - always appreciate the excellent community help!

Re: Naming static pages

This site is in development right now and I did generate an HTML catalog but not using it [BTW, can I just delete the folder if I want to remove it?]. Once the site is finished that is one thing that I want to do though - was one of the many features that attracted me actually.

Thank you very much for your time.

Re: Naming static pages

The way the static pages work by default, the url is pages.php?pageid=x (where x is the number). For the html catalog, you'll get a url like you show above. If you want to have full control over your page urls, you need the CDSEO mods from websitecm.com.

Thanks I'll take a look at it - - btw, I also note that all products from the menu are going to .html pages - I didn't stop to think that SEO named pages may the deal - - still green with regards to x-cart if that helps LOL!

THanks again
Ron

Thanks cotc2001 - some of their mods were recommended and I submited a ticket requesting a quote for installation of 3 or 4 mods actually but have not received a response as yet - this was yesterday late afternoon that I submitted the ticket. This is not the first time i have submitted an inquiry with that site and not received an answer - happened in late December also so I figured it was holiday time, maybe people were off or traveling, but it now seems that maybe they are just too busy; anyway, very disappointing and now I'm reluctant to purchase from them if there is no communication - they do seem to have an excellent selection of mods - if I wasn't such an unsure of myself newbie ... LOL. I am new to x-cart but have been using osCommerce and this is very different - I don't have time to do all the learning that comes with integration and testing of mods myself because I am so new and don't really know yet how to check all is good and also because so new I'm very slow - think I'll either check here on the forums if anyone offers this service or put a project up on scriptlance - I thank you very much for taking the time to write your advice.

Enjoy life! May you be Well and Happy

Jon always answers his inquires, so I'd suggest checking your spam filter, as they use a help desk system that sometimes gets flagged as spam.

Thanks - I don't have any problems like that though, checked already because I was really looking forward to hearing back - I'm not badmouthing them in any way, don't misunderstand, I can understand how these things happen sometimes.

Thank you again
Ron
