product options mod
ive mentioned a few times that i was working on a product options mod and have finally got around to finishing it, or at least the majority of it (most of the time spent was making sure it was cross browser compatible , which proved to be a pain to deal with since there were so many caveats with each browser), and making a preview of it
as of now it does the following: 1. product options on products listing page 2. option modifier price difference updates (kind of like dell's component selection for their computers) 3. allows product options you define to be displayed in the cart only 4. multiple product option styles, such as the standard select dropdown, radio buttons, image selection, and checkbox 5. product option can be changed within cart page without using the javascript popup 6. in cart, product options and product quantity can be updated for an individual product 7. price updates in products listing and product page 8. disables the add to cart when options are not selected 9. images get updated for variants on products listing 10. dynamically hides exceptions so that the user wont even be able to select it to begin with 11. also will be compatible with global product options there may be a few more things that i forgot about, but thats what i could remember off the top of my head i just need to do a bit more testing before i release it and all the documentation for installation here is the link to the preview (will need flash to view it, also sorry for the size of the display as i was using my laptop and forgot to change the width) http://www.xcart-toolshop.com/productoptionsmod.html |
Re: product options mod
This is EXACTLY what I have been looking for - can't wait for the release!
Thanks -Mike |
Re: product options mod
Has this been released yet? This is really awesome.

Re: product options mod
I added a few more things:
exceptions now work with text/textarea (not the text inside the input, but the input box itself) works with the product import/export cart only options will always be displayed in cart while the rest of the opts can be hidden/shown (on cart load they will be hidden to hide all the clutter) ...and a clarification, this mod does not include a global product options mod, but should be compatible with others and also my next project which will be to do a global product options template inheritance mod which is what I was referring to will be up soon, I am targetting Monday afternoon p.s: this mod does require the use of javascript |
Re: product options mod
Do you have this mod available for download?
|
Re: product options mod
added a few more things again:
"price after update" in cart page, so the customer will know the price of each before hitting update in cart page, a message will get displayed when customer makes changes to options telling them they need to update in order for changes to take effect in cart page, if all options are not selected then customer is not allowed to update and a message will appear admin side has been worked on mod is finally finished (going to stop adding things), but now need to get a simple site up and running for purchasing...will have a new demo video up in the next few days and hopefully the site as well p.s: this mod is for 4.1.x |

Re: product options mod
Is this mod for sale per domain? Or, can I purchase it and use it on multiple websites that I own?
|
Re: product options mod
I am surprised this is not integrated into xcart by now?

you know what, i have never thought about those that own multiple websites, but my original intention was per domain my concern is the web devs that make sites for others will use it and take advantage of the whole situation i guess i could do a multi license where if you have more than 1 domain, the others will be at less cost but i havent taken it into consideration till now...at the top of my head, i will say $50 per extra domain (a license includes the sitename.extension and the www.sitename.extension domains), but havent set up the purchasing for such and would probably have to be done outside of the site |
Re: product options mod
Very Interested in this mod. Exactly what we were looking for as we sell a lot of customized items.
Would offer up a testing ground, with good traffic, should you desire that. -ds |
Re: product options mod
another feature is being added to hide the whole opt group for exceptions at the request of a customer, hoping to be done soon

Re: product options mod
PERFECT! Can't wait for the release. Would save me a lot of time from hand-coding :) I need those check boxes! woohoo!

I would be happy to purchase as is, without that additional modification - assuming it is in working order otherwise (we are relaunching one of our major sites this upcoming week, and this would be perfect for us.). -ds |
Re: product options mod
will be up 3/21/08
|
Re: product options mod
It's passed 3/21 :-) I'd like to purchase as well.

Re: product options mod
Me too! I'll subscribe to this thread, and hopefully be able to buy when it's released! Good luck wrapping it up.

Re: product options mod
I have to add that I purchased this mod when first released and I love it, Inebriate did a great job and his support has been wonderful. He was very helpful in listening to my needs when he first started working on this project and hopefully those things will help others as well. I'm sure when he has it back up there won't be a shortage of satisfied customers like myself!
Thanks! |
Re: product options mod
How close are we to finishing this? I need it soon
