Now that we have our new online store open and we are working on filling it out with all the X-Cart Mods that we have, I thought that I would start a post that will list them out for everyone. When we add new mods, I will add them to this thread with a short description and a link to the mod.

I recommend Stephen as well. I got the dymanic image module from him about 6 months ago.....as well as installation. i haven't had any problems with it since.

I cannot recommend Stephen highly enough.

There was a glitch at my end with the install, and he went out of his way to help me resolve the issue (even though it was nearly 2am his time!!)

Good initial start- but there was problem with the upsell mod and now I haven't heard from him in days... I really wanted this to work.

I also like to recommend Stephen. Purchased the Dynamic Images MOD for x-Cart 4.1 and had a minor issue and Stephen promptly took care of it. I have the highest praise for his product and customer support and find his Mod a great improvement. Every dollar on this Mod is WELL spent....!

hi telafirma,
i noticed a problem in my store; i think is related with your addon "dynamic images" because i don't have the skills to modify code by myself, i have only the knowledge to copy/paste code to install addons.

besides i noticed your addon modifies some code in various files related with product options

in few words, the product option validation has changed the way it works, previously a red string "txt_exception_warning" were added in real time in the product page, simply checking a invalid combination, now the same string appears but in a classic window explorer alert message (the one with the "OK" button") and ONLY when you try to add the product to the cart, making option validation less interactive with customer choice.

however i'm not sure it is a problem related to your valuable addon, but with my poor knowledge of programming, i've noticed that in file "customer_option.tpl" you make a call to a "custom" version of check_option.tpl

Stephen - I see customers are satisfied with the Dynamic Image Generator, and your service. I have a couple of questions.

1. Here's a link to one of my stores. Can I achieve the same look with your product?

2. When the Detail image is dynamically resized for use as a product or thumbnail, is the byte size also reduced? For example, the detail image is 50K - is the thumbnail image 50K or is it reduced to say 6K?

3. What happens when X-cart comes out with an upgrade, 4.2 or whatever? How will that affect this addon?

4. How does this affect the CSV import file as far as the images are concerned?

I'm Sure you'll see me at your store soon - maybe this week. I'm setting up a new store and getting ready to add product to the database. I'm sure the time to add this addon is now and not after my database has been populated.

Absolutely. This is actually how the default layout for the mod is.


This is the purpose of the mod. It samples and creates new images per the settings in admin (including quality settings for JPG files).


This really depends on what X-Cart does with the code - which I can not see that far into the future to tell. There was a major code change going from 4.0.x to 4.1.x and the way that X-Cart handled images changed a lot. As for "point" releases (4.1.19, 4.1.20,...) there should be no issue.


This does not effect this at all. Your images (how many ever you decide to use) are still handled the same way in terms of adding them to a product. The thing that changes with this mod is how they are used and how they are displayed to the user.

Anybody know how long it takes for Tela Firma to deliver software - purchased almost 48 hours ago and hae not heard a thing back.

Stephen sorted me out - and I apologised to him - I forgot it was Mom's day in the USA at the weekend - so he was having some family time.

He said normally would be within 24 hours or quicker.

He got the sorftware to me Sunday evening so good on him !

Doesn't OOB x-cart only allow 1 thumbnail and 1 product image though? How is it possible to upload the multiple images that the Dynamic mod supports via CSV?

It's been 4 days now that we've purchased the software and we haven't receive it yet. When does he deliver the application? is there support? does he check his email?

I've got a pre-sales question outstanding too. I'm sure he's just having a crisis / on holiday or something. Wouldn't be surprised if he's back next week.

I bought this mod and love it and it took a couple of days to get it but keep in mind guys that the major contributers in this forum are pretty busy supporting paid and free mods for us all. Don't bite the hands that feed you as Stephen and the others are happy to help and solve all the problems you have.

hi, I am very interested in this mod

my product Thumbnail, product image and detailed image are all stored outside X-cart directory

Do this mod still work with this?

Stephen,
The SQL patch does not work for 4.1.10, table xcart_config contains an additional validation field. I've modified the "insert into xcart_config ... " statement to insert an additional empty field to make it work. Hope this will not affect other parts of the module.

No still outstanding - ended up giving the customer a refund on the mod.

Bit miffed if I order the product I can get it within 2 days but if I have an issue we seem to be on our own..

I have not heard from him since 2/29/08 when he said I would get a refund for the mod I bought and he could not get working right.

Still no refund either after 2 or 3 emails since then.

My problem is with the review mod, the dynamic image mod is working great. In fact his support for the image mod was great which is why I went ahead and bought the Advanced Reviews Mod from him. He did try to get it working then just dropped off the face of the earth.

Hi everyone

Just an update. I've bought the manufacturer pack for version 4.1 two days ago and am still waiting for it. I've just sent another email to remind Tela Firma about my order, hopefully I'll get it soon.


Does anyone know why we can't download the mod or skin right after we paid for it? I'm guessing that these mod or skin that are sent to us have the registered domain encoded into it so stop people cheating the owner. Am I right?

I ordered the dynamic images mod on the 28th May and have yet to receive the files - Stephen seems to have disappeared. Has anyone else had any software come through?

I ordered a manufacturer pack on 5/6/2008 and got it on 10/06/2008 (5 days). Have you sent an enquiry email to check on your order? I had problems with the installation of one of the mod and found a bug in the other mod. I have sent a Help email to Stephen yesterday, hopefully he'll reply very soon.

From what I can see in this forum, Stephen takes time to get back to you but he is still getting back to you *finger crossed*

As stephen is busy i wonder if anyone else knows how to fix a problem with the Dynamic Images mod? I have just tried to install the mod again after it all going wrong during an upgrade and now it doesnt do the lightbox popup but just opens the enlarged image in the explorer window. Looks like you missed a step. Go back through the install and make sure you've added all the code to your skin1/customer/main/product.tpl
