Changes is skin1 not showing up
 

I need some advice. I've made some simple changes to my skin1 file (background colors mainly). The file saves but does not make any of the changes when viewing the customer site. Changes I've made to the .php files do take with no problems.

The background color is set in skin1/skin1.css which will override the background color specified in the body.

Also, you may have to clear your template cache by visiting http://www.yourdomain.com/cleanup.php

Jon,

I've cleared the cache & still not changes take effect. I have been editing the skin1.css file & it saves my changes - but they do not reflect in the actual storefront. Any other ideas of what could be going on? I appreciate your help with this (I am new to xcart & am trying to get a store up and running).

GLS, if you could take a moment to update your forum signature with your exact X-Cart version that would be great. You can find this in your "Summary" area of your X-Cart admin. Thanks! :)

balinor, my xcart version is 4.1.6. Thanks for any help you can give - I've noticed your signature all over the place & have already printed your Template editing guide - will save me tons of time!

I have looked at your site and you seem to be in webmaster mode, come out of this before making any changes.

Hi Garry,

I wasn't in webmaster mode - I went back in to make sure (even went into webmaster mode & back out again to be absolutely sure). This issue is really puzzling to me. Hopefully somebody has experienced a similar issue & will help me out with this. I've heard such great things about the program & its flexibility, hopefully I'll experience some of that.

Hi GLS,

can you post your css as a text attachment, and I'll check it for any errors or conflicting rules. Could you also post which parts, if any, do display properly

Hi n00bert,

Thanks for the reply - had an xcart tech look it over. There was an issue with the file. They had to rename & replace (happened during the install). If you'd like clarification I can post the comments from the tech.
