Auction Manager for XCART

SafetyNet Web - New Product Release: Auction Manager for XCART

Are you managing your eBay listings with one tool and selling your products through a separate XCART online shop?

Not any more! Auction Manager for XCART (AMX) allows you to list any or all of your products from XCART directly into eBay - all from an integrated interface within your XCART administration back-end.
  • Manage your auctions
  • Create new auctions
  • Schedule products for auction
  • Relist products for auction
  • View reports (sold items, unsold items, current listings etc.)
  • AMX includes a module for listing your current eBay auctions directly within your XCART store for customers to see - blends seamlessly into your template design allowing customers to view and visit directly one of your auction listings
  • AMX is 100% certified for use by eBay
eBay and the eBay Logo are trademarks of eBay Inc.

Hooter,

Have you got any screen grabs or a demo of the mod in action?

designerweb 05-17-2006 08:03 PM

Does this work with if we have ebay stores?

hooter 05-17-2006 09:39 PM

We will have some screenshots up later tonight/tomorrow morning...5 minutes after I made the release public, the hard drive in my development server decided to fail

@desginerweb,
Yes it works with eBay stores

We are getting a user forum setup that will be specifically for Auction Manager Program Updates/Questions/Feedback etc. and hopefully [-o< will have that operational some time tomorrow.

Must sleep now... 8O

Has anyone used this? Any comments on it?

Hi

I think we were one of the first to buy this mod, and probably the first Australian store to buy it. So I thought it may be worthwhile passing on our early thoughts on it.

First impressions - Very impressed not only beacause it makes listing auctions so much easier but mainly because of the support of the makers. We had a number of difficulties initially due to differing configurations required by Ebay In Aus, Shipping differences etc. The Guys at SafetyNet Web worked tirelessly through the night to get the software adapted to suit the local needs here (I believe they have done the same for other overseas customers too)- and I mean through the night due to time difference here to US. Service above and beyond is what we experienced.
Now as to the add on itself - It works and is simple to use and list auctions or stores inventory. Additional bells and whistles are being added along the way (already) and the build team seems extremely responsive to what the customers want in terms of features. As time goes by if they continue with this amazing attitude its only going to get better and better.

Conclusions - Would I buy it again knowing what I know now - Absolutely!
Should you? well If you want something that is simple and easy and is being further enhanced to suit your needs then Yes - while you have the chance to add your ideas to making it even better.

Cheers

Seriously tempted by this but a few questions which i'll post here as im sure others will be asking as well (so may as well keep it all in one place)

1. Does it handle product variants (couldn't tell from the screen shots)

2. When you place an item in for a ebay auction does it put that item on hold within x-cart so that the ebay auction and normal sales don't overlap (i.e is there a risk that someone might make the ebay purchase late at night when im tucked up in bed and at the same time someone might buy on the main site and im going to have to refuse one sale)

3. Does it handle bulk creation - for example i have a clearance category, if I wanted to list all the items in that category can I do that quickly and easily rather than add each item seperatley.

hooter 05-27-2006 12:10 AM

All these features and more are being added as fast as we can including those mentioned as well as templating system, custom integrated auction checkout, etc. etc.

Updates to the core are being released almost daily. Our users are providing us with great feedback and this application is evolving and becoming more robust and full-featured by the day.

We intended for this to be a "user-driven" application and that is what it has turned out to be 8)

As we move forward, I am confident that our application will rival those of the likes of Truition, MarketForce etc.

But to be honest, daily replies here in the forum will not always be possible as we are just plain swamped - I invite any and all with specific questions to contact us through our web site contact form where our staff can easily answer any inquiries you may have - thank you.

Hi, Did any of these features get added to this e-bay Add-On? I am particularly interested in the inventory management functionality mentioned in 2. Without the inventory feature this add-on will create more work and frustration than it is worth.

Im also curious as to whether these features got added espcially the ones mentioned by cotc2001!?

Thanks.

Hi Roger,

Yes they did 8)
Also an integrated auction checkout will be featured in our next update due in 2-3 weeks. This will allow eBay winning bidders to checkout/pay for their auction items directly through your xcart shop whereby you will then be able to process/track orders just as you do now.

Re: Auction Manager for XCART

Just wondering if anyone had trouble generating a token at set up time and if there are any suggestions to fix this problem. I thought maybe disable the module and start again, but I not sure if that's the way to go. I can hardly wait to use, lots to list on Ebay.

Thanks in advance,

Vera

Re: Auction Manager for XCART

Auction Manager is a great concept - however, the product is somewhat lacking in excution.

I have not be very successful in integrating it into x-cart. The product has limited documentation on configuration and produces inconsistent results with eBay. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Actually most of the time it doesn't work.

The Safteynetweb folks were initially helpful in getting the user configuration working. However, there was no responses when it came to getting the product to actually work with eBay. After many attempted emails - I have given up! They did not return many emailed requests for help. I had even given them access to my instance of x-cart for troubleshooting.

While I think this product has much potential for integrating x-cart into ebay, I currently would not recommend purchasing it.

Hi Wayne,

To the best of my knowledge I have responded to all of your support requests - if I have missed something please email me so I can rectify whatever issue you are having.

My apologies if you felt you were ignored or a request wasn't responded to.

Re: Auction Manager for XCART

Anyone else using the SafetyNetWeb Ebay Auction Manager? I'm considering using it and would like some feedback on it - good or bad. Also have a few questions on it...

Does it automate (or auto-populate) any of the entry of any of the main product auction fields; title, description, etc? Can it do this with groups of products instead of one at a time? I can't see this functionality from the screenshots. Or, is it more of just an ebay listing interface placed inside of xcart instead of inside of inside ebay?

Any info from users of it is much appreciated! :)

Thanks.

Re: Auction Manager for XCART

I'd also be interested in more comments from people who are using it within a live store as im now in the position where we are seriously considering using ebay to shift some dead stock or items where we only have a few left in the least popular sizes. so an easy way to put them all onto ebay would be of great benefit to us.

so anymore merchants willing to put their 2pence in would be appreciated.

I purchased this today and it has certainly made listing much quicker.
I did get a few problems trying to list items at first - but after setting all the options in the admin and saving each section - it works well.

I think the trick is to set all your admin options before you try to list any items.

We have the Marketing Manager Pro Bundle from firetanks, which has some kind of ebay lister (have not tired it), just wonder the difference between these two. Which one is better.

We are planing to open an ebay shop with about 6000 products is this capable of managing this amount of products?

MMP only produces the listing template HTML - you still have to manually add to ebay, fill in your listing & add the thumbnail image.

Auction Manager is automatic from your XCart product to actually listing on ebay, and a bit more.

Fordy.

Has it got any functionality to re-integrate the sold products into xcart order system. What we are looking is of some functionality to automatically import back the products sold on ebay into xart? Is this or any other products are able to do this?

thanks

I bought this mod on Friday and installed it on Saturday. It's been working great, I have no complaints. Their were a few things I couldn't figure out but the folks at Safetynetweb were very helpful. All in all, I highly recommend this mod if you are looking for an easy way to post your items to ebay.

What is the latest on this mod? Is it working? Is Safetynet still supporting this?

I would think not as it has not been announced but have you tried contacting them directly to ask since this is not their means of support/contact?
You might get a much quicker/accurate response that way.

And I might but the post I quoted was almost 3 years ago so I thought somebody here may know.
