Printable Version problems
 

What templates or preference do i need to look at regarding changing what actually prints when you select printable version?

I would like it to just show the main product info from the product.tpl but it seems to bring in all sorts of other stuff?? (not looking too good at all)

Yeh Ive had a look in there and despite there being the head_printable.tpl etc etc but I haven't changed anything in there and yet when Ive put the printable.tpl back into my home.tpl file when I do click on printable version its pretty much screwed up, duplicating twice and bring in the auth.tpl and cart_menu.tpl etc from the right of my home.tpl

I presume its because Ive moved something from the main home.tpl but Im not sure what?? any ideas peoples??

Make sure yuo clean yuor cache file area before yuo look at the site for any changes

template_c saves the cache. To clean go to summery page in admin area and go to botton and clean....

Nope sorry tried that and still having no luck at all?!

Have you just tried to replace the old tpl file with a new one from the distribution file?

Just download a new copy from your file area at xcart and upload it to the file structure, clean the cache file then see what happens. It may be that the one yuo have is corrupt from the original upload maybe?

Some people have issues with winzip corrupting files. I use winrar and others uas it or other progies, but cliam winzip caises issues. So that may be something to look at.

It has to be a file with a corruption or duplicated code. I wouls suspect a corruption and a simple replacement of the file would solve it. Replace it from distibution though, not the file that may be on your pc.

Well Ive replaced the home_printable.tpl and that made no difference but then tried looking at a printable version and replaced the home.tpl and it works fine so it looks like thats the file that is causing a problem somewhere. So i best start looking at that and amending it to match the rest of the site.

If yuo have a comparrison program it is very helpful with finding small tags that may slip through the fingers when looking with just the naked un assisted eye.

I use compare it. Fantastic program and I use it all of the time. It has helped me in a huge way.

Well I don't know what to say Ive replaced the home.tpl and home_printable.tpl and it all looks ok from the main page to the catagories pages but then when you click on one of the subcatagories and view the printable version its moved it all to the right again and then also when you go into the product.tpl it gets even worse??

You suggest replacing those with the originals as well?

Just wonder whether its worth all the bother but we'll see.
