How to change menu title?

I spent several hours trying to find out how to change "menu_title"
in the geotrust box titled as "Security and Privacy" under "Help" box,
made a million searches on these forums and can't find anything.
The following is my Geotrust html:

------------------- BEGIN --------------------------------------

{capture name=menu}

<p align="center">
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript" SRC="//smarticon.geotrust.com/si.js"></SCRIPT>

For your security and peace-of-mind, all transactions are processed using 128bit SSL technology.</p>
{/capture}
{ include file="menu.tpl" dingbats="dingbats_authentification.gif" menu_title="Security and Privacy" menu_content=$smarty.capture.menu }

------------------ END ---------------------------------------------

In it I tried to change the second line from the bottom from "Security and Privacy" to "Your Security" (or whatever wording). I went to phpMyadmin, template editing, webmaster mode, FTP, languages etc. Nothing worked. Please can you explain how to do such a simple thing to edit a couple words?

Thanks!
:)

Have you tried cleaning up the cached templates directory?

neonrider 10-19-2005 10:44 PM

Nope

No, I did not. I don't know what that is or how and what for it is done. I would appreciate step-by-step instructions. Thanks.

Log into your admin, click "Summary", under "Clear Templates Cache" click "Clear."

How do I edit "Security and Privacy"?

Thanks, I did that. Back to the question: how do I edit "Security and Privacy" words?

If you've changed all you said you've changed and cleared the templates cache, then you're either editing the wrong file, editing the right file in the wrong skin directory, or there's some voodoo magic going on.

Voodoo maybe or Enigma...

Perhaps... but I still would appreciate if someone could help me such a simple task editing a couple of words. I just want to mention that the SSL GeoTrust box was added with "Security and Privacy" title was added by X-Cart helpdesk engineers and that the word "Privacy" jumped to the second line (does not look neat) and therefore I want to shorten the title.
I really looked everywhere, language files, labels, texts, templates etc. but ca not find where to edit it. The GeoTrust template would not allow to edit the SSL box title: as soon as I edit it and hit "save" the title goes back to what it was.

if they did it they will know whats going on

I'm being charged support points for bugs

The support is just to expensive - every question costs me $8 to $10 each time. I'm sure many of you have an SSL box or any other customized box and know how to edit titles of those boxes? Do you usually edit a box title in it's template? Or should it be edited in languages? But in languages there is no such title as "Security and Privacy". Can be a title uneditable? Thanks.

Try making a new language variable instead of putting the text right in the template, that is the recommended way to do it.

Thanks

Thanks for your suggestions. I wish I knew how to do it and where to "attach" it to.

How to edit title (mr. / mrs. / ms.)?

I have found it out myself and am posting in case someone else needs help on this one. Log into your FTP via let's say FILEZILLA and find digicert.tpl UNDER /home/yourstorename/public_html/skin1. Then open the file and edit the text the way you want and save to the server. That's it.
