...and just yesterday I was thinking to myself that a new 3.5.x version was due out since it had been almost a month since the last one. I thought *maybe* one hadn't been released yet because it was turning out to be relatively bug free....
|
 Just ran the upgrade patch from 3.5.1 to 3.5.2, no issues encountered.

Hopefully I can finally get this export from X-Cart into Quickbooks to work.
|
Yep! I had it installed before this was even posted! LOL Been waiting for it so I can use AuthorizeNet in SIM mode. Going to post for help on it now in the payment issues forum.

Splendid! Just the upgrade I need for one of my sites :D
Looks like x-cart team have been putting in overtime over the christmas period! |
Does anyone know how I take adantage of this feature?
"Improvement in X-Affiliate module: the possibility to define the default affiliate plan that will be assigned to each newly registered partner is added. " When I log back in I dont see any new features in the affiliate section... :? |
Shoot, two days after I installed 3.5.1, well gonna have to try the famous upgrader to see how it works.
|
Well I figured out a way of using the patch to set the affiliate plan, im sure its not the "correct" way, as I have 0 php knowlege, I just stare at stuff till a solution comes to mind.
Anyways I posted it here http://forum.x-cart.com/viewtopic.php?p=35631#35631 |
Isn't there usually a patch for the add-on (affiliate) modules?
Would I hurt anything by extracting the full x-affiliate-3.5.2.tgz in my xcart directory after doing the 3.5.1 -> 3.5.2 patch? Craig Elliott FireCompanies.com |
Can't find the https login form changes
OK, have just upgraded to 3.5.2 and apart from the func.php file not patching, I can't seem to find this change in my General Settings:
Code:
Tue Dec 16 16:11:19 MSK 2003 [*] - mclap - Configurable possibility to use HTTPS for logging in and for registering with the store is added ("Tick here if you want to use HTTPS for users login and registration" option in General settings). Anyone else have this tick box? Looking at the diff file for func.php I can't see anyhting that would have any bearing on this particular change. Correct me if I'm wrong of course  Thanks! Dan |
check general settings. look near the bottom
Tick here if you want to use HTTPS for users login and registration: This would have been added via the sql update dont forget update your forum signature  |
:? I remember seeing something flash up saying it hadn't applied the SQL patch, but after subsequent fiddling it hasn't mentioned anything since. Hmmm, that would explain it. I'll see if I can reapply the sql patch if that's possible.
Thanks Dan |
...and I don't think I can put 3.5.1 and-a-half in my sig..
|
he he
just run the sql patch using phpmyadmin or somethin and see how you get on |
Well I couldnt successfully upgrade so I just made a fresh install on 3.5.2, dont want to hassle with the upgrade, it only had problems.
I do have a question, maybe my english isnt so good as I thought, but now that I think about it, I have never seen the term "TICK HERE" anywhere but in Xcart. Is that a valid English Term ? Or is it a term created by Xteam to say "CLICK HERE" ? |
All ok, except SQL patch
My update is kind of manual :) Error from the script Code:
SQL PATCH FAILED AT QUERY: From phpmyadmin: Code:
INSERT INTO xcart_ccprocessors |
Second problem:
Admin -> Shipping/Tax zones My Default Zone is EMPTY ! I created Zone 1 on 3.5.0, with some countries, not all ! What can i do now, if i want to add more coutries from Zone Default to Zone 1 or 2 ? |
OK. I ran the sql patch by simply logging in to MySQL, "use" ing the relevant database and copying and pasting the text file directly into the command prompt in one go -it processed it line by line. This is just for information for MySQL newbies! I'm not that proficient myself but I couldn't figure out quickly how to get PHPMyAdmin to run the patch ..
Anyway, all seems well. I now have the "enable https login" tickbox and whatever else the sql patch was meant to do. Is there any reason why this sql patch failed when I applied the whole 3.5.2 upgrade from the GUI, yet worked when I applied it separately? Aside from the func.php giving me problems, the sql patch was the only other problem. I was also sent another sql patch from the X-Cart team regarding reinstating the Fulfillment membership option for order processing. I don't think this is enabled by default on 3.5.2. That now works fine with Administrators flagged as Fulfilment Staff only seeing the orders section when they log in. This is starting to become a productive day... :) Dan |
upgrade worked ok for me ... apart from 3 files .. which i had to patch myself, but wasn't pretty easy to do.

maybe post that patch in a new thread for others to use |

I'm not sure if it's my upgrading of x-cart and/or this https login tickbox, but when I checkout and then click on the "If you already have an account, please login from here." link and then fill in my username and password from the next screen at the bottom (Authentication), I get the typical Internet Explorer "You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure" popup, even though the page I'm on is not pulled through https. Sorry about the overly long senetnce there..I'm tired.. :)
I can see why this happens if I do a View page source -the form action is specifying the https location (which is my shared SSL cert on another domain) but it logs in and redirects back to the non-secure cart, thus triggering the message. Does this happen with everyone elses (3.5.1 or 3.5.2)? I'm not sure if it's related to this new tickbox or not. I'm writing this at home and won't be back in work until Monday so can't give any more specifics. I'd be grateful if those that have upgraded to 3.5.2 coud check to see if they get the same message with or without this tickbox enabled -it may be a bug. Thanks! Dan |
Right, I've just had that confirmed. Because the login passes through https and then back to the non-secure page, you get the IE error message. They've said they might look into changing that in future versions. I think I might disable that feature as I'll probably scare more customers off with that "insecure" message!
Thanks Dan |
I have 3.5.1 I extarcted the 3.5.2 tgz file the selected to update to 3.5.2 it runs through says OK on everything then goes back to the upgrade screen and still says it's version 3.5.1 and has the option to upgrade to 3.5.2 I hit refresh and still same thing. Anyone have ANY idea what I am doing wrong?
|
sounds like it did not do all the files or update the database, did you get any errors
|
In my upgrade I had to do the following:
[from X-Cart staff] Quote:
Code:
UPDATE xcart_config SET value='3.5.2' WHERE name='version'; Not sure if this is relavant to your scenario. Dan |
