Template doesn't refresh correctly
 

I am using the Crystal Blue template and whenever I refresh a page the template doesn't reload correctly. Has anybody had this problem before? Does X-Cart know about this? Anybody know how to fix it?

When you say doesnt refresh correctly. Do you mean when you replace the template file it doesnt renew?

If this is the case you might have php accelerator running on your server which has been known to cause problems with x-cart and smarty.

If it's the actual webpage, your ISP may be holding files longer than they should for some reason. Some isp's have been known to cache files for 24 hours to avoid bandwidth overload.

No, by refresh I mean by actually refreshing the page. No change to any files.

It has also been tested from multiple ISP's, computers...same results.

I had this using Mac OS 9 & X with IExplorer. Figured out that by going into preferences and clearing the cache then refreshing the page worked.
Not sure about PCs but it may be the same.

Nope didn't work. And even if it did it wouldn't be a exceptable fix because users would not know or want to do this. Thanks for the reply though. Anybody else?

Works on netscape based browsers
 

So I finally tried the template on Opera today. damn thing works there. So the problem is its compatibility with IE. If anybody knows how to correct this please let me know. Thanks.

Hi,

I am having the same sort of problem, sometimes the front page does not load fully. Crystal Blue template...
ALSO...

If you click on ANY of the catagory listing in the menu it brings you to the the products listing for that catagory. Within the products listing there should be "thumbnails" next to each product. Only some of these images load. If you click on the product detail to go to the actual product page, the product image on the left hand side does not load(sometimes). Plus on that page the Detailed product image does not load(sometimes), Also the stars for the product rating do not load(sometimes). It seems the page excecution is completing before the images are loaded.

If you refresh the page a few times, then the images start showing up.

However these problems are not related to any any specific catagory or product, but generally accross all catagories and products.

IE and Netscape have same issue.

OPERA browser works 100%

So it seems to be browser issue...

Site works fine under standard template.

Help any one?

your best to have a word with xcart about this as they are the one that designed the template

It's actually pretty easy to do your own template, once you get into it.
Make a copy of your skin folder first though, then you can replace it if things aren't as you wish.
