Does anyone know how a browser displays the "favicon". Is it controlled by a x-cart template? if so which one? Or would I just place the icon in the root folder of my site?

To be safe, you should also add this line to customer/home.tpl in the head:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" />

Most of browsers try to load favicon.ico automatically from the root.

mine wont...just a little white icon appears instead...any idea why?

How did you create the .ico file? You can't just use a .jpg or .gif....

Now I have a new problem, it seems the previous person wrote an if/else reguarding what favicon to view depending on if you are on the admin or customer side. Would this code be on the home.tpl?
