Buy Now problem

Forgive me if this question has already been addressed elsewhere. I searched but could not find the answer.

My problem is that how my store is set up currently, when a customer clicks on the 'buy now' button, the item is simply added to their cart. I want the customer to be taken to their cart since they are wanting to make a purchase.

However, I want the item to be added to their cart and for them not to leave the page that they are on when they click on the 'add to cart' button.

Is there an easy way to affect the behavior of these buttons independently of each other? I can click a check box that will make the shop redirect a customer to the cart but that affects both buttons, right? I want the 'buy now' to take a customer to their cart and the 'add to cart' button to simply add the item to their cart without taking them off the page they are currently viewing.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi, isn't this set under general settings "redirect customer to cart" ?

I assumed that is what this tick box did or didn't do.

Hope that helps

Right, there is a tick box, but that redirects both buttons, the add to card and the buy now. I do not want both buttons to take customers to the cart. I only want the buy now button to take customers to the cart. The add to cart button should leave the customer on the page that they are presently viewing.

Thanks

Is this not an issue for anyone else?

I'm still having this issue.
Currently I have 'buy now' buttons at the category level, where the products are displayed as thumbnails. If a customer clicks on a thumbnail they are taken to the product page which has an 'add to cart' button.

I want the 'buy now' button to take the customer to the cart but the 'add to cart' button to simply add the item to their cart without taking them off the page they are viewing.

There has got to be something I can do to get the results I want.
Any ideas would be most helpful.

Thanks

Sadly, I have not had time to actively look for a solution to this problem and so it still persists. If you or anyone else can shed some light on the subject it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

So hello again kind forum people.
There are at least two of us here that are having this problem.
Can no one be our savior and offer a solution?
Please.
