Emailed invoice.
Can somebody please tell me the difference between skin1/mail/html/order_invoice.tpl and skin1/mail/order_invoice.tpl??
I need to edit what the customer receives in email invoice. Thanks. |
Re: Emailed invoice.
When you choose to send emails in html format (admin > general settings > email options, you have to change the skin1/mail/html/order_invoice.tpl, otherwhise edit the skin1/mail/order_invoice.tpl, which is for plain text emails.

Re: Emailed invoice.
Sweet. Thanks.
Though theres one thing I can't work out. My customers get emailed invoice in two different formats, looking entirely different, both in HTML, with the below subjects: HomeSense.com.au: Your order #86 has been processed. HomeSense.com.au: Order #86 notification. Can some one please tell me what is going on.... Thanks. |
Re: Emailed invoice.
Why did they switch over?
Customers used to get "HomeSense.com.au: Order #86 notification" invoice email, now they get "HomeSense.com.au: Your order #86 has been processed", how has this happened? It is a lesser invoice, and I'm hoping to get back to the original. Many thanks. |
Re: Emailed invoice.
Turn off the Initial Order Notification in general settings/E-mail notification options.

Re: Emailed invoice.
It is off.
I've never used initial order notification. |

Re: Emailed invoice.
## Customers used to get "HomeSense.com.au: Order #86 notification" invoice email,
now they get "HomeSense.com.au: Your order #86 has been processed", how has this happened? ## I get this as well. I do not have order notification selected. However, I get an order notification e-mail sent to customer. Then a few minutes later I get order processed e-mail sent to customer. Both of these state order notification and order processed in the e-mail subject line. I only want the customer to get one e-mail that says order processed. Can anyone tell me the exact wording of the selection box I should tick to activate the correct e-mail sending for my requirements. PS. I have switched e-mail order notification setting active and deactive two or three times in case I need to clear the database. Hope someone can help with this as I think I have tried all the obvious things. |
Re: Emailed invoice.
The customer should get an email informing them that the order was placed. This usually includes the original "invoice" (the pretty one in html... skin1/mail/html/order_invoice.tpl).
Then, depending on the order status they will get another email (i.e. "processed", "declined", etc.). If you want to notify the customer that the order has been processed there is a checkbox for this in the "Email notifications options" section in admin. It sounds like you are using a payment gateway, and it is possible that they are sending the "processed" email once the credit card is approved. Without knowing how you are set up it is difficult to tell what is happening. Do you have any additional x-cart modules installed? |
