Re: Site map page

Hi,

all online sitemap generators are using the server which can cause the site slowing down or overuse the memory, CPU. This is why I was not able to use for 2000 products sitemap generator with news, etc... on my server. I tried this:

http://gsitecrawler.com/

This is totally free, can be installed on your computer, not on your server and it connects to your server as a normal webbot. The 8.000 links on my site took about 5 hours to crawl everything. Other php sitemap generators was shut down by the hosting company because of high server loads....

Hopefully it will help people with the same problems I had...

Re: Site map page

Hey dudes, great mod. unfortunately it is not working properly with version 4.1.9. If i do a preview on customer/sitemap.tpl it's working great. However, my sitemap.php page is only showing the first 2 categories. (Stizz Sitemap) I used Jwait's code. I'm a rookie in using X-cart and php:roll:. Does anyone know what i should change to make it work?
Thanks in advance,
Yorick

Not working in 4.1.x
This just turned my front page into a blank page with tons of links. Any suggestions?

It doesn't appear to work for version 4.1.x.

Where is the x-cart root directory? I can do the rest of this I think but honestly have no idea where to find the root directory. Back end stuff boggles my mind! HELP!!

Re: Site map page

The x-cart root directory is the one that you have x-cart installed in. By default it is /xcart but you may have moved it or renamed it.

Hey WhiteDoveGifts,

I tried the sitemapgenerator you suggested: http://www.auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp.

It stops crawling after 50.000 pages! Can anyone tell me how my webshop can have more than 50.000 pages to be crawled?? 6 months ago i had 17.000 :S.

Re: Site map page

One thing to be aware of is that when using the sitemap generator if you have not logged out as the admin it will crawl your site as the admin. This means that it might be crawling your orders pages!
