The PCI council doesn't take conversion rates and customer usability into consideration. And apparently Qualiteam doesn't take 10,000+ users of older versions of their software into consideration either.

Integrations with old X-Cart versions are possible and we implemented them for our customers who use X-Cart older than 4.3. Anyone with old X-Cart version can contact us regarding such integration.

Anyone who use X-Cart 4.3.x or 4.4.x can use "out of the box" X-Payments connector included with the software.

Taking it this is the official X_Payments thread so will ask QT here:

Why X-Payments requires phone? If the store owner decides not to have phone as a reguired field in customer profile and wan't to use X-Payments they can't - phone is required; if they make it required and some old customers did not have it in there profile they will get an error...

Why X-Payments requires shipping address? Shipping address has nothing to do with payments. Payment is based on billing address not shipping address. I can understand the phone requirement but the shipping address - this is ridiculous.

Can someone please explain.

Phone and address are required by X-Payments API, and are required by payments just in case. I'll explain. Different payments require different data on customers. When customers goes
checkout the store doen't know yet which payment he'll choose on X-Payments (as it supports several ones). Some payments demand phone, others require other fields. Neither x-payments nor connector can guess what payment method a customer will select on checkout.

What fields are required. PayPay requires phone for ex. Shipping is required by PayPal as well as Authorize.net and others. Shipping address is very important. What if your credit card was stolen and used to order to another city/country. As long as payment knows your shipping address you can freely dispute this charge. For ex. PayPal would notice a suspicous order and contact you to make sure it's you who placed it.
Thus it's all for you, to make your transactions more secure.
