Hi Jon,
I purchased cdseopro some time ago and installed it on. I would like to please ask you some advice.I'm writing some articles on the static pages of my site concerning the exact same subject of some of my categories and would like to include the exact keyword categorie in the url, but the same url is used for the categorie itself so can't use it. I was thinking of two solutions.Say the categorie is table lamps. Which solution would you use for seo ?

ex. www.mysite.com/table-lamps-1.html

or www.mysite.com/news/table-lamps.html

Thanks in adavnce for your advice.

Anty

Shouldn't CDSEO Pro over-ride the X-Cart URL so that this link includes the CDSEO URL?

Can anyone please tell me why our canonical link is not the CDSEO Pro URL?

I'd like to avoid raising a ticket whilst Jon is playing catchup.

Sorry guys! I checked my CDSEO Pro settings again and I had managed to disable canonical URLs

Lesson learned - double check settings!

I shall now go and crawl under a bush

Hi Jon,

Can you send me some instructions on how to 'uninstall' them?

Can't I just disable them? Then use the license on the other site? Kinda lost here and would like some advice on what to do...

xCMS is disabled, CDSEO is disabled, but I added some code to make it constantly enabled as there was a bug/conflict with it and I can't recall what it was.

Please let me know asap so I can get this done.

IMO it's best practice to use categories like this.

For example, if you have a blog split into sections Blog>News,Articles, Review

You would have the url like this www.example.com/blog/news/news-name
www.example.com/blog/articles/article-name
www.example.com/blog/reviews/product-name-review

That way if a customer is really interested in your articles they can manually remove /news-name/ and arrive at www.example.com/blog/news/ and they'll see more news.

It's easier to navigate and google always say make things easy for visitors etc

That's my opinion of course. :-)

Thanks Jack for your advice. Well, Jon doesn't seem to be answering any more :-( . Anyway I have another question for who can help me. I have changed urls on a certain page several times. Now I have noticed that google is indexing it three times with different urls. Infact this page isn't doing very good in ranking. Could it be that google is considering this duplicate content ?? I think it is. Well if it is I think this should be fixed in the cdseo software. But maybe I'm wrong. Be waiting for Jons comment. Thanks

Three different URLS will cause Google to index it three times as they will think of it as 3 pages. You need to 301 re-direct each URL you are currently not using to the url you are using for google to disregard the other urls.

They will dissapear with time, depending on how fast your site gets crawled. :-)
