I mean the offline that just stores the cc #, no actual CC processors involved.
They said xcart would no be storing cc #s, but its not on the list of removed payment methods

No, you cannot store CC info anymore. You should fix that ASAP even if you don't upgrade - HUGE penalties for that.

Is this going to be a required purchase for current licenses? My license is 7 years old, and wondering if this is something additional that we will all have to purchase, or is this for license owners that came along after a certain date?

Since you were an existing customer of ours before June 1st 2010 we gifted you (and our other existing customers at that moment) one free X-Payments license. You can use it for your X-Cart store. If you would like our assistance with installation and configuration - please contact us at sales@qtmsoft.com for options possible. Such service costs ~$100-$200 usually.

Thanks! Is that one license per customer or per X-Cart license?

One per ACCOUNT - so those of us who had 20+ licenses under one account were screwed.

Let me clarify - one X-Payments license/installation can be connected up to 10 online stores.

I saw the below quote posted elsewhere and wondered if there is anything pre 4.4.6 stores have to worry about.

I am sorry for the late reply to your question.

If you use X-Cart 4.4.3-4.4.5 - you do not need to worry about - these versions already have RateV4 and IntRateV2 implemented.

If you use an older version - you should apply corresponding updates provided in this ticket:
* http://bugtracker.qtmsoft.com/view.php?id=38896#171114

Should you require any assistance on updating the USPS shipping module in your X-cart store - do not hesitate to contact our support team, we will be glad to help you.

Do other open source carts, have this issue as well? If QT would support more payment processors, like eZic - which is what our shop uses - it would not be such a pain. We use eZic because they allow us to do auth-only transactions and reissues, which is great because we do custom work a lot - meaning our shipping estimate may be low. Then we don't have to ask the customer to input their cc info again to charge them the additional amount. To get X-payments - I'll need to pay the $1200 then another who knows how much to get QT to custom integrate eZic into it.
