Re: MaxCDN Content Delivery Solution?

Thanks Conor, you are a gentleman.

I'm about to run some trials with some CDN providers here to see if their is any tangible benefit.

Re: MaxCDN Content Delivery Solution?

Looks like for now, MaxCDN is still in a holding pattern when it comes to an Australia Hub. Asia did launch earlier this year, but Australia is still planned for next year.

That being said, I've often seen Christmas Bonus information come out as the holidays approach. I was not given a time frame for Australia other than it is still planned to happen in 2012.

There's a number of new locations being planned - Singapore, South America and Australia are all planned for 2012, but I was unable to get a nail down as to Q1, Q2, Q3 or Q4 for the release. It's just one of those things :(

Re: MaxCDN Content Delivery Solution?

Hi would MaxCDN be any good for people in the UK or would it be better to find a company within the UK, I was thinking of using Clook hosting CDN but i just wouldn't have a clue how to implement it, at least on here there's info on how to install, but wondered if MaxCDN would be ok for UK

Many thanks

Re: MaxCDN Content Delivery Solution?

We use it for our UK hosting and haven't had any issues. There's several distribution points in Europe that will help speed up the site for any users from western Europe. Even some of our clients in Italy and Afganistan have used it with great results.

Hi,

I too would be also interested if someone has this fully set up and operational using 4.4.

QT should also change the information in the online manual as the version they have is not related to 4.4.

Thanks

Can I bump this up really need to find out if someone has this installed on v4.4.4 and with problems sorted having the CSS & JS script speed up switched on, also detailed images, i.e, images/T/..., images/D/..., etc

Conor have you ever thought about doing your own CDN ?

I've not tested on the 4.4.4 version before, but it's on my growing list of things to do :)

As for us setting up a CDN, I don't think it'll happen any time in the near future. It would be cost prohibitive for us to grow into that field given the amount of competition and the low pricing that others offer. I'd love to offer it, but it's not something that I can see happening anytime soon.

We use MaxCDN on our Wordpress and websites, and have found them to be very reasonable - $39.95 for 1TB of bandwidth. In the entire year, I don't think our site ever used the 1TB of bandwidth. Here's a link (it's an affiliate link) - http://www.handsonwebhosting.com/cdn

One of these days I'll do some 4.4.4 testing and see what I can come up with. We're in the middle of some pretty big changes at Hands-on at the moment, but once the dust settles, I'll move this one up my list of things to review.

Hi Connor

I fully understand about the cost thing they do offer quite a good price, I know it sounds cheeky but might wait till you've done some testing with v4.4.4, since I host with you as well who better to say what needs to happen...
