OK, got it figured out.
That idea was done indeed. Devs added two new options into General settings (see Amy's post at http://forum.x-cart.com/showpost.php?p=291759&postcount=26). If you enable them you'll get entire CSS consolidated into two files and compressed (size decreases in ~5 times).

The options are disabled by default (reason: .htaccess file needs tweaking for particular server environment).

Any chance we can be notified here when the next beta version, eg. beta 2 is available? Thanks :)

Ambal, I am sorry, but I don't consider this solved. Hacking something together to get it shoehorned into one file is not a solution, but rather a patch. We need a clean, clear, concise and consistent structure for css and js with x-cart. It has been an absolute mess for a long time, and we had thought you had solved that. Instead, this just looks like it was thrown in at the last second. One should no have to mess around with htaccess files to move a stylesheet or js file. Obviously, it is too late, so we will have to work around it, but all I can say is that x-cart 5 better totally fix this.

Yes. Thanks a lot to all beta-testers. There is great activity in BT, a crazy number of bugs has already been registered and a powerful stream of bugs in our bugtracker makes us ready to make the next update in the nearest future. :) I'll post here a small note like this http://forum.x-cart.com/showpost.php?p=291802&postcount=30 . :) Thank you.

Why are the 4 thumbnails (Below the View detailed images (4) line) not resized for better page load?
You guys had this issue in teh 4.3 beta, wher eyou let the HTML resize teh image instead of caching a ganerated, much smaller, thumbnail.

Re: X-Cart 4.4, 4.3.2 Version?

Hi,

I'm very excited about the new soon to be released 4.4 version of xcart. I've done a lot of customization to the 4.3.2 version, will we be able to upgrade the 4.3.2 version to 4.4 or must I start from scratch again?

You have to start from scratch again.

Hmmmm.... thanks for the update. I'm going to stop with the customization of my current version. What about the products, will I have a problem importing the product database of 4.3.1 into the newest version?
