Re: Upgrade to 5.2 fails

@SGS actually, the current code should work properly on Apache 2.2.
I assume there is some other .htaccess or server setting, that prevents it from working properly.

I would suggest contacting our support team (support@x-cart.com) and asking them to debug the problem, it will be a commercial task though.

@CenturyPerf it is more interesting to look at the xlite or php_errors log files form <X-Cart>/var/log/ folder. They will tell more about the OOPS problem. Please send them if possible.

@cerberuscoins I am sincerely sorry to hear about that. I will pass feedback about response time to Head of Support.

As for SQL file you made before upgrade, it will be your solution for now. You will need to restore the database from it and then point X-Cart files to it. However, it must not be files from X-Cart 5.2.3 (files and database will not be compatible), it must be files of X-Cart version you upgraded from. Please, let me know what X-Cart version's database you made backup of? I will send you X-Cart distribution of this version then.

Re: Upgrade to 5.2 fails

Hi Tony

Sadly that SQL restore didnt work and now my store looks has some issues.

The categories are missing on the frontpage and some of the subheadings are duplicated. Most of the products appear to be there - well at least 1100 of them but I can only view them in admin.

The version I had prior to the upgrade was the last of the 5.11 and I did the SLQ backup prior to upgrading to 5.2

My current version shows as 5.2.3

Re: Upgrade to 5.2 fails

Hi,

Due to the e-mail warning received, I upgrade the store to the latest version available on 6 April:

ACTION REQUIRED:
Upgrade your store at least to version 5.1.11 (or newer) asap.
!! Do not forget to create a backup copy before upgrading !!

After upgrade I received error:

Deploying store [step 4 of 12], please wait...

Run the "Doctrine_Plugin_PrepareDBSchema" plugin...

Nomatter what I try but nothing seems to help....

* Replaced Database.php (https://blog.x-cart.com/5-2-3-upgrade-issue-fix-for-the-users-running-MySQL-5-6.html), didn't help
* Did a hard reset, didn't help either.
* Complete deleted the /xcart directory via FTP en reupload from backup (I made a backup before I upgraded), didn't help either.
* Tried to revert the MySQL backup via the .SQL backup file via PhpMyAdmin, foreign key issues on `xc_form_ids` which I can't solved.
* Deleted the complete SQL database, I tried to recreate it, same issues.

I am really lost here, I am helping my friend out with his live production website catalog for his garten shop (www.tinswonentotaal.nl), performed this upgrade and I am trying to get it back life since Monday and already spend like 24 hours in total trying to fix this mess..

Can somebody help me out please?

Re: Upgrade to 5.2 fails

@cerberuscoins, could you please let me know whether you had any customization of your store prior to upgrade? If you had, then of course such modifications do not exist in default X-Cart 5.1.11 and they must be re-applied.

Just in case you need, there is a distribution of X-Cart 5.1.11
https://www.dropbox.com/s/rki7408snzyfg0d/x-cart-5.1.11-en.tgz?dl=0

@rviersel, first of all, you need to recover your store from backups. You need to recover both files and database. If you do not have such backups, please contact your hosting team about that.

Next step is to find out what was wrong with your upgrade. For that please post php_errors and xlite files from <X-Cart>/var/log/ folder.

Tony.

Re: Upgrade to 5.2 fails

Hi Tony

No the only thing is that someone imported my products. No customization of menus or anything else. I bought and installed the flyout menu with no problems.

The only customizations I used was built into the xcart menu system.

Id like to keep the products and menu categories I have.

Ive downloaded the file. Do I need to pay someone to clean install now?

Regards

Re: Upgrade to 5.2 fails

You can do clean install yourself, I believe.

Just install X-Cart 5.1.11 and point to clean database. Once the installation process is finished, put your SQL backup to this database. Basically, after that your store should be up.

Hello, most likely you are already paying someone for this - your hosting company must be doing daily backups of your account.

So the fastest way to resolve the issue would be to restore the backup from the date prior to the upgrade and then go from there.

And if your hosting for some reason does not do daily backups, I would highly recommend switching to someone who does. Here is what we have to offer and hosting companies we can vouch for.

As for fresh install, our engineers can definitely do it for you within respective service. If you are interested, please, let is know in the support ticket in your Help Desk account.

Hi Kirill

I havent tried any of those but have tried another US based service thats highly recommended by people on this forum. My site spent significant amounts of time down.

I hope the installation service is better than the support desk who advised me that because Im not a priority customer they can address a support ticket whenever they have time to do it - which was 8 days after lodgement.
