Re: Upcoming X-Cart v 4.4.6 & PCI-DSS requirements

Dear Seyfin,

I think my question got buried... http://forum.x-cart.com/showpost.php?p=336064&postcount=23

I saw the below quote posted elsewhere and wondered if there is anything pre 4.4.6 stores have to worry about.

Quote:

- All Rate Calculator API integrators are encouraged to migrate to the latest API versions (RateV4, IntlRateV2):

- Rate and RateV2 versions of the domestic Rate Calculator will be retired on March 31, 2012, requiring all integrators to migrate to the latest versions;
Thank you

Best thing to do is use a hosted checkout solution with your processor. Invoice amount will be forwarded to your processor and your customer will enter credit card info there. One approved, it will come back to x-cart with authorization. It's not the most elegant solution, but it works great and your shopping cart is out of scope - which is ultimately what you want.

I disagree - this method almost always negatively affects your conversion rate as it adds a step to the checkout process, and the transition from your site to your processor's site is often graphically jarring. Almost every time we A/B tested this it resulted in lost sales.

You're right. When we have used it as a solution in the past, our client's customers thought that their computer had been hijacked. While as developers and service providers we know differently, customers do not always get that link between the two.

In the end, I look forward to what BCSE has to show for a DPM solution. They definitely show the most promise, not to mention consideration of their customer's needs, which x-cart has sorely forgotten over the years. Thank goodness for plug-in developers.

I'm a little confused. Hopefully someone can clear the mud for me. If you're running 4.4.5 and AIM, you're good to go. What about other gateways?

I'm running FirstData's LinkPoint. Running 4.4.5, am I PCI-DSS compliant? If not, I'm assuming I'll need to purchanse x-payments correct?

If you are accepting credit cards ON your site (not at LinkPoint's site) than you are not compliant unless you purchase X-Payments.

And AIM is not compliant out of the box, you need the DPM module from bcsengineering.com.

Hi guys,

We would like to give our forum users the ability to buy X-Payments with 25% discount till April 30th.

I created special discount code for you: "FORUMUSER".

It gives 25% discount on X-Payments software license (makes X-Cart cost USD $891 instead of $1189) if used without quotes at checkout via

Is offline CC processing going to still be available in 4.4.6?

Yes, you'll notice the offline processors like Auth.net SIM are not on the list of processors being removed.
