And here's a page that supports using CDATA as well...

Good find guys, I've raised this with QT support.

QT Support have released 2 more patch files to fix the problem with their last Google Analytics Upgrade producing invalid XHTML code as mentioned above. I've attached the extra diff files to this post: DIFF_31252 & DIFF_31253, in GA CDATA Patch.zip

I've also uploaded GA Upgrade Final.zip which has all 4 DIFF files in, for use if you haven't yet started to upgrade your GA code from urchin. They should be applied in number order, i.e. DIFF_30599 first, and DIFF_31253 last.

Re: [PATCH] Update to non-legacy Google Analytics code

I've applied the patches that exist in the GA Upgrade Final.zip and put my tracking ID and ticked "Use E-Commerce analysis" in the general settings. But when I visit my homepage and view the page source, I see no javascript being added. After some research of the x-cart code, I found that it only adds the GA code to the page when an item is added to the cart through checkout.

The problem is, Google Analytics is reporting "Tracking code not verified" because Google states that "For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website." And it is not being applied to EVERY PAGE, especially not the HOME PAGE.

Any ideas?

Have you enabled "Google Analytics" in the Modules menu?

Yes I have, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to put in my tracking ID and check "Use E-Commerce analysis".

Re: [PATCH] Update to non-legacy Google Analytics code

It seems tons of people have been having this problem since April 30th - I'm in that boat as well. GA is only tracking about 50% of my transactions.. oddly it seems to still be accurate with Adwords. I guess they don't want me to freak out and turn off my Adwords spend.

It seems google has resolved the issue. My data is back to being accurate withing about 5-10% now, which seems to be the norm for me.

Has anyone been able to get more accurate results, or is that just the limitation of GA (due to js being disabled by some, etc.)?
