Hi Brian,

I believe you have now added me to MSN, I am not currently available but will be later today or tomorrow to speak in further detail.

The initial installation is web-based and automatically updates all of your product and category urls using the product and category names, you need then only to customize the ones you wish.

Hi Jon,
I know you mentioned that your mod does not use mod rewrite-- so i was hoping you could mention the technique your mod uses. This way i can do some research on it and compare it with mod rewrite and hear what others have to say.

Is there something common technique that is known that your mod uses.

Thanks

The mod uploads a file with no extention i.e. "keyword-file", and sets apache to process it as a php file, even though it appears in the url as a folder. The PHP file then processes the url string to get the category or product url and queries the database to get the categoryid/productid, and then loads the page.

Is this a propreitary method that you came up with or is this known as some common term/technique.

I just want to search google to see what i come up with and what others say about this method.

It's a common technique.

does it have a name or is it referred to as anything in particular?

Sorry I'm not aware if it has a particular name or not.

Hi - I have the DSEFU mod installed and have been very happy with it. I downloaded the test install file and uploaded the contents to my XCart directory. I ran the link:

http://www.vacsew.com/xcart/websitecm/websitecm-cdseo/test/

and well - what does it mean? No responses match what should have been reported.

I should mention that the upload does not contain a seperate dir of websitecm-cdseo/test/

If I eliminate the /test/ part i still get the same Internal Server Error.

^ Likely means your server does not support the commands at all, or you have installed incorrectly. If you send FTP info with a request to investigate, to support@websitecm.com, we will look to make your .htaccess compatible.
