I did read your earlier response and I appreciated it. But you were only talking about the currency mod (btw, we have our own, not the Ruby mod) and that was just an example of the many customizations we have for our store. I was after a bit more detail about modification to the mobile mod in general and its flexibility because I found the user manual a bit sparse. I've since received the answer and have decided to wait until responsive templates get a bit more widespread and go that route instead. I apologise if you think I was being rude. |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
I have an update to my previous post about main category products not being listed for mobile (http://forum.x-cart.com/showpost.php?p=352827&postcount=75).
We created a new main category and added a single product... the product listings page displayed with that single product listed. We then added a second product to that category and then nothing was displayed (it broke just like all the others with more than 1 product). We then deleted the second product so there was only one in that category again and it displayed... We even upgraded to the latest version (4.5) of the mobile mod. Seems to be an issue with looping through multiple products. Has anybody else experienced this issue? |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Does cloud search work well in mobile version?

If an XC site had multiple languages, will X-Cart Mobile support this?
Many Thanks |

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Thanks for the quick response.
I'm assuming with regards to the payment element, the customer will be moved away to from the mobile site and taken to the customer's preferred payment gateway (which most likely will not be mobile enabled) ... is that correct? |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released

Yes, in case of "web-based" ("offsite" or "gateway hosted") payment gateway like PayPal. In case of "background" ("onsite" or "merchant hosted") payment gateway customer stays within the mobile interface. |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
I thought that might had been the case. Thanks for clarifying :-)

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
I have had a complaint that the Image Verification is not enabled on the mobile version. Is it likely to happen in the future?

If you would like, we can implement Image Verification for you within a bounds of a separate task. You can create a question ticket in the HelpDesk and our managers will contact you to discuss the details. |

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Just checked out Honeypot Invisible Captcha. Now I know what it is! I guess this should do the job.

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Is it okay to install this on a live store? Upgrading X-cart never seems to go well for me and I'd hate to see my whole store shut down.
|
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Test it and anything locally first!! ALWAYS
It did install on a live site for me but I was prepared for disaster. It went unusually well. |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Does it automatically redirect mobile visitor that landed to desktop version to mobile version of the site?
In case if AlteredCart OPC used, does mobile version use it own checkout? |

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
I purchased this module this week and installation was a breeze. Most of the module works great, but unfortunately we are unable to actually complete the order. For some reason the "submit" button does nothing. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the module with no improved luck. Has anyone else run into this?
|
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
I have same problem. Hit submit button and nothing happens. No error messages. Page does not load/reload.

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Thank you for noticed this bug. It is related to the X-Payments integration.
Here is the patch "HelpDesk File area -> X-Cart Mobile -> Support files -> x-cart-mobile-patch-1.3.0-1.3.1.diff" You can also get it by this direct URL. It contains corrections for the one file "skin/common_files/modules/Xcart_Mobile/modules/Fast_Lane_Checkout/checkout_3_place.tpl" Please, apply it. |

skot, The issue ended up being that the mobile software was using a function that only exists in php5 and this particular server has php4. We figured this out by researching an error displayed in the xcart error log file. The cart version also uses that function, however it uses the "if function exists" and if not it uses a different function. There wasn't a note in the system requirements about needing PHP5. |

Would you possibly provide me with this part of log? I need this to make the necessary corrections to fix this issue. |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Here it is:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function: http_build_query() in /SERVERPATH/modules/Xcart_Mobile/func.php on line 409 Thanks |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
We've released a minor version. There is the list of bugs fixed:
Chris B Thank you for the info. We will include the necessary correction into the further versions of module. |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released

We have upgraded to X-Cart Mobile 1.3.2 and X-Cart 4.5.5 w/ X-Payments 1.0.6 and are experiencing a very slight problem with the format of the mobile iFrame checkout.
When using the X-Payments lite interface (Fast Lane Checkout) on x-cart mobile, the drop-down select buttons do not span the full width. For example, when clicking on them, you must click a certain spot of the button for it to work (left side) the right side of the buttons don't do anything. If you were to hold down your finger while clicking it highlights the area that is clickable, attached is an image of what I'm talking about -- the grayed out areas in the image are where the button drop down seems to work, any other area will not trigger the drop down. I have been messing with the CSS but cannot seem to find the error. |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
As a heads up, anyone using this mod who is also considering to use BCSE's "speed up" mod - they won't work together.

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
I'm creating my own colour scheme using ThemeRoller and have downloaded the theme. But when I compare the file size of jquery.mobile.css (of the original install) it's a lot larger than the one I have created.
After closer inspection, the jquery.mobile.css originally provided has multiple swatches included in there. Is there a reason for this? Thanks a lot. |

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Hi Skot,
The disappearing "switch to desktop" button bug came back (version 1.3.2). That bug was also present on a previous version we had used (version 1.2.3). Here is a description: If using a desktop web browser with user agent as mobile device, the "switch to desktop" button will show. If using a mobile phone (we tested with Android) it does not appear. Please let me know what we can do to patch this. Thank you. |

After testing this mod a bit more, I would like to see the following improvements and features:
Otherwise so far, very sleek and fast. |
Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
Update:
It took Bill less then 24 hours to make OPC by AlteredCart working with Mobile :-) "New Arrivals" by QT is hidden on the "... more" tab. I think this should move to the categories pages. Is this thread and Mobile by QT dead ? |

Re: X-Cart Mobile module released
We are planning a fresh install using XC 4.6 with the included responsive template. Can we enable the mobile module as well? I read somewhere that when using the mobile module, you must use the Ideal Comfort template. I'm hoping that is not the case. This is what we're hoping to do...
Desktop = Responsive Template Mobile/Tablet = Mobile Module Thanks in advance. |
