OK - newly discovered problem.

Google Analytics message from them is stating :

Missing Tracking Code
No valid tracking code found for property http://www.vacsew.com's default URL http://www.vacsew.com. Make sure your pages are tagged with a supported version of the tracking code.

XCart shows that the correct code is in the config, but it does not show up on any of my pages when I look at the source.

CDSEO wouldn't remove tracking code, you'd want to look at your template files.

Is it worth updating from 2.1.1 to 2.1.5? I've not implemented CDSEO yet on this new site as it's under maintenance however I want to get the up to date modules for peace of mind. :-)

Just saw this article about Structured Data Penalty issues (Still trying to figure out why my website ranking has dropped so suddenly over the last month).

Spammy Structured Markup Penalty & Recovery – Use Schema Markup With Caution!

In looking at my site with Webmaster tools, I find that I have out of 417 items listed in the Structured Data group (I think it is because of lack of keywords on the rest of my items - adding them gradually), I have over 200 that are either missing required data or have what they are determining to by invalid data.

Example Image #1:
In this example, they are looking for the product name.

Example Image #2:
In this example, Google doesn't seem to like my "Identifier" label for what they are looking for as a label of "Product"...? Or is it the sku format they don't like?

Where (in the code I presume) and how do I change these values? Why are some ok and others not?

I just tested our site and saw this problem for the first time. Updated to the latest version of Rich Snippets (1.1.1) and retested - all good. Total elapsed time, about 10 minutes. Once again Jon and company are on top of things.

I'm assuming your asking if you can have the default x-cart search, also search static pages. This isn't a CDSEO question, but the answer is by default, no. I recommend using AlteredCart's Smart Search addon with their Static page search addon.

I believe you are using the Rich Snippets from your template provider so you'd want to follow-up with him for corrections.

Hi Guys,

After being told by Google that our site had been hacked and was presenting spam I had a quick look. All pages looked fine and a thorough scan of the files using Google's own tools by myself, and a complete scan by Total Server Solutions, revealed nothing. But then I found a load of xml files being created in realtime, in a folder 'userfiles', containing Russian ads for flights.

Checking the x-errors-files-yymmdd.php contained the following:

Is this the smoking gun? Is someone using cdseopro.php to gain access to my server?

Any help will be appreciated.

cdseopro.php is showing as the request uri because it runs 98% of all pages, including all categories, products, manufacturers and static pages. CDSEO has been thoroughly tested and has no history of any security issues. It's almost surely an issue somewhere on your site (have you installed all security patches for X-Cart) and cdseo is just showing because they are on a category/product/manufacturer/static page.

Yep, we've got all the up to date security patches installed.

When I get to the bottom of this, and should it be an issue with x-cart (my gut says not) then I will post in the appropriate forum section.

We've purchased CDSEO Pro, xCMS, Rich Snippets, Custom Redirects and looking for an alternate solution for Google feeds. Do you have any plans to release a mod in the future?

Currently, we use Google Shopping export. Unfortunately, when the csv is generated, the X-Cart url's are generated, not the CDSEO versions :-/

Consequently, 76% of our feeds are disapproved with Google.

If you haven't considered this mod before, I think there would be a market/need for it :)

If you're using the "Froogle" module as x-cart called it, the instructions should have modified the feed to use CDSEO urls. This is step 4g at https://www.smackdigital.com/downloads/cdseo-installation-4.7.x.html

Alternatively, I'd recommend the Firetank Google feed as it's compatible with CDSEO.

Given the state of the X-Cart market we don't intend to make any new mods.

We've repaired our csv and are successfully using X-Cart's Google Shopping export mod. It's doable if you don't mind a manual upload once per month. Just be sure to add Google-required extra fields then modify per SKU if necessary in product variants extra fields.

I'm installing CDSEO on x-cart gold v4.7.6. On the page skin/common_files/single/menu_box.tpl there is no "{include file="admin/help.tpl"}"

Did they change something on this latest version, or am I missing something?? Please help :)

Yes, that code doesn't exist in the latest version.

But all you are doing here is adding a new tab to your admin area, so you can put this wherever you want this new, Custom mods tab to appear.

Easiest thing might be to instead just find

{include file="admin/goodies.tpl"}

and place the code before or after that as you prefer. Where you put it though won't make any difference to the running of CDSEO, you are just making a tab to put the links in for it.

I wonder if anyone can give me a little guidance here. Last week my VPS crashed and it was so bad it was easier for my provider to create a new VPS than fix the old. My two X-Carts went over to the new VPS with a few little tweaks to get them running again. I just noticed that one of my CDSEO Pro has stopped working in that I'm not getting clean URL's. When I look at the CDSEO control panel it is there but with no products, categories etc. If I do an auto populate I can see it going through the right number of products but still nothing displaying. My other X-Cart with CDSEO Pro is working fine.

All the template edits are still correct and the database looks okay. Just a bit lost here to know what to try next. Any helps you be most appreciated.

Edited later. I removed the database tables and ran the install again. All working now :)
