I raised a ticket with Jon on 6/19 and resent it 5 times up to 7/23

I PM'd Jon on 7/29 and he replied on 8/1 saying that there were no open tickets. I PM'd him on 8/1 and 8/15. I am still waiting for an answer. All this happened way before September.

This is strange to me. He is always fast in responding & attending queries. he has good reputation. Let me wait for sometime. I may have answers. Maybe someone from mods, can help!

Hi Jon,
CDSEO module is working great. I am wondering if you can help me with url rewrite for help pages which are not done automatically by CDSEO.
help.php?section=xxxxx (xxxx can be anything like faq, term and conditions, etc). I use smarty to take care of title and meta tags. If we can make the url keyword rich, it owuld be great.

Also just noticed that this script is killing my site. I even talked with hostgator on this and they have confirmed that this script is running too many processes. What can I do here a.s.a.p. Please anyone.

hostgator is the problem, get a normal provider

I went through about 10 providers before found a normal one. hostgator was one of them. Get yourself VPS or dedicated, with good ammount of memory and cpu. XC gets a lot of resources esp when mods like CDSEO are installed.

Ok, but your not telling me any differences. I have a dedicated server with 8GB ram. So what are the differences between hosters?

cdseopro.php is showing as the URI component because it runs the majority of the x-cart pages (products/categories/manufacturers/static pages). The script itself has been load tested against x-cart's default php files and shows very little overhead. Likely the problem is that CDSEO is allowing search engine spiders to spider your site heavily resulting in more processes, and ideally CDSEO would also be increasing your traffic from customers further increasing your server usage.

 

To adjust to the traffic increase you'll probably want to modify your mysql settings (this is something you would need to do with increased traffic even if CDSEO was not enabled). By modifying the mysql settings you can increase the # of allowed connections while lowering the time these sessions are kept open. This is something a server support company would typically be able to do on your behalf.

 

You should also change wait_timeout to 15

When did you get a reply from Jon?

I am getting absolutely no response from him at all. No replies to emails to his helpdesk, no replies to emails to his personal address, no replies from his helpdesk system.

I received a response today from him. I'm sure he is working on them all, post on his forum and also send him a new email to his support email. What issue are you having?
