Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Jon
Just upgraded our dev server to CDSEO 2.0 prior to upgrading our live site to 4.6.4. Just noticed that it needs php 5.3 to run and we are on 5.2. Would there be any problems with us upgrading to php5.5? Also our dev site no longer runs after uploading the new version is there anyway to role back? |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Sorry I don't have time right now to write out all the advantages. The right solution depends on the site and required implementation but TrustPilot.com is one to look at.

In our licenses area we have versions for < 5.3 and 5.3+ so you just want to make sure you download and upload the version you need. You would have to look at your backup process to determine if and how a roll back would happen. |

Cheers Jon, I managed to roll back by reinstalling without any issues so I'll install this <5.3 version - thanks |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi Jon,
I cannot login to smackdigital.com. Looks like my old login from websitecm.com is no longer valid, so I am taking the liberty of writing my question here: I had been a happy user of cdseo pro 1.9 before I upgraded to 4.6.5 a few weeks ago. Now it looks like version 1.9 does not work with x-cart new banner system. Please explain: how should I tie it with cdseo? Is there a link to any installation guide? Thanks. |

The logins from websitecm.com have all been transferred over. The login for the site is different than the support desk. You may need to request a new password. CDSEO is compatible with 4.6.x as of version 1.9.6. If you aren't on that version you'll need to upgrade. Beyond that, I'm not aware of any compatibility issues with the banner module so I would require more information about what is not working to provide assistance. |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
OK, it might be my fault, I forgot what email I gave during registration. I tried to recover it. Did not work. Too bad, what can I do? But I have it written down.
I know there is a new version of cdseo and it looks promising. But I do remember the pain we both went through with translation of foreign characters. And I do remember your generous help. I am happy as it is, might be happier with 2.0x but would it work in my case? Does it translate foreign characters properly? I know you say yes but well... Not enough energy right now. The upgrade price is right but I am afraid it would open a huge can of worms in my case. I think it is a well written mod, so I intend to stick to it. Caused no problems so far. Just asked about banner system comaptibility. But if you choose not to answer it, what can I say? |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
If you PM me your name and domain name I can look up your account information and better respond to you.
To my knowledge CDSEO is fully compatible with X-Cart's banner system mod. |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
I feel obligated to post a thank-you message regarding Smackdigital support.
They fixed my problem with x-cart banner system and I did not have to wait weeks for it. Quick, professional and free! And not for the first time. Who can ask for more? Hands-down winners. Thank you. |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
I bought this and tried to use it .. seriously speaking this software does not do any thing for my website. I gave a try for 2-3 months and my ranking went down.. from first page to 10th page and even bad.
I stopped this software and work only with X-cart built in SEO module and I am back...on first page. |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
In over 10 years of offering the software to thousands of users you are the first person to ever report such an occurrence. I would appreciate it if you would provide your website URL for evaluation.

Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi Jon,
I noticed you were online and thought I would chance it since I'm off for the bank holiday. I have requested a domain name change for the modules I have purchased. I'm working on a new similar site, if you have a spare minute could you review the changes? Wanting to get some work done this bank holiday. Thanks. :D/ |

Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi Jon, we are running version 2.0.8 of CDSEO (Love it - we have been using the various releases of this mod since 2008!)
We have just moved to xcart 4.7.4. Is there any need to move to 2.1.4. Looking at your change log nothing in it seems to effect is except i see version 2.1.3 lists 'Updated for X-Cart 4.7 compatibility'. Are we ok on 2.0.8 (which seems to be working just fine) or do we need to look at updating ? Thanks |

There were some changes necessary for 4.7 compatibility. They won't cause serious issues but given the upgrade is only $35 I'd recommend it. |

Hi Jon,
I am planning to upgrade my store to 4.7.7 with PHP7 & nginx. So can you please confirm CDSEO will work with nginx ? |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
There are many people running it on NGINX but it isn't formally supported.

Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi Jon,
It's possible to add feature in CDSEO to generate products images for google webmaster tools submission ? I have just installed CDN on my site & found that all google images search results has been gone :( !! After googling I found that one has to submit sitemap with images to regain quickly in google images search result. wordpress & many other ecommerce software has got addon for such but not available for x-cart. In images site map event though you mention images url like https://cdn.mysite.com/images/product_image.jpg then still google accept this if you have verified your cdn sub domain ownership webmaster tools. |

Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Jon, when are you likely to have the server move finished as we have been trying to pay for an upgrade for days and it won't let us.
|
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Server move is done but some compatibility issues with having to upgrade OPC are taking some time to resolve. In the meantime if you paypal to jon@smackdigital.com and send me PM me the name of the mod and domains I'll process it manually.

Hi Jon,
We're getting the following on PHP 7.2 Code:
Warning: Use of undefined constant WCMCDSEOAREA - assumed 'WCMCDSEOAREA' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/mt/www.mystore.com/modules/cdseolinks/cdseo_config.php on line 66 Thanks for your help! Paul |

I'll look at getting this fixed for a future version of PHP. |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi Jon,
To stop the log warnings do you see any issues with changing your code as follows? In cdseo_config.php Change: Code:
if ($wcmcdseoConfig['status'] == 1 AND WCMCDSEOAREA != 'ADMIN') Code:
if ($wcmcdseoConfig['status'] == 1 AND $current_area == 'C') Thanks, Paul |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
That will do the trick.
|
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Perfect! Thank you so much!

Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi Jon,
Please add this one too as it will error in a future PHP version. Ioncube so I can't see. Code:
[28-Feb-2019 21:39:49] Warning: Use of undefined constant cdseoReplaceID - assumed 'cdseoReplaceID' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/met/public_html/cdseopro_sitemap.php on line 0 Thanks! Paul |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi Jon,
I trying to tweak my Structured Data for Google by adding product CDSEO URLs but all products in products_t.tpl have the same cdseo_url. Code:
{$cat_products} 0 => Array (57) cdseo_url => "all_same_url.html" Paul |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Quote:
CDSEO doesn't populate such fields by default (it replaces urls in the source) so you must have some custom coding for that purpose that was never completed. |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
I solved. Thanks

Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
I am currently running X-Cart 4.7.7 on php 7.0 because although my X-Cart store has been upgraded to support PHP7.2 I believe the CD SEO module is causing the site to not load whenever I change my server to 7.2. Our web server installed the IonCube but the site still won't load when I switch to php 7.2. My next step is to disable CD SEO and see if PHP7.2 works without. Are these known issues with CD SEO? Any help you can offer would be much appreciated!

Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Did you download the CDSEO Pro 7.1+ Beta version?
https://forum.x-cart.com/showpost.php?p=409658&postcount=20 If yes then most likely your host will have to double check their ioncube version. When we were upgrading to PHP 7.2 using cPanel we initially got ioncube errors and our host had to update to the newer 7.2 .so ioncube files. We assumed wrongly that the 7.2 files would automatically be there since ioncube was already selected when we turned on PHP 7.2 in cPanel. We're running CDSEO Pro 7.1+ Beta and PHP 7.2 on 4.7.10 with no issues. |
Re: CDSEO Pro v2.0 - The Official Thread - (Sneak Peak!)
Hi,
We are running 4.6.6 classic with CDSEO Pro 2.2.0 (had to upgrade from CDSEO Pro 2.0) and PHP 7.2 Kept getting warning from CDSEO Pro, but made mod below, which made that warning go away **** To stop the log warnings do you see any issues with changing your code as follows? In cdseo_config.php Change: Code: if ($wcmcdseoConfig['status'] == 1 AND WCMCDSEOAREA != 'ADMIN') To: Code: if ($wcmcdseoConfig['status'] == 1 AND $current_area == 'C') *** Have to make sure you update all the php.ini files in the directory paths to get the new ioncube used.
