Is it possible to display categories as well as product display(usual product display) on the manufacturer page with this mod???

I'm on vacation (hoping to see the space shuttle launch tomorrow!), so this is *untested*. You can change step 4a to:

4a. In skin1/modules/Manufacturers/customer_manufacturer_products.tpl, replace:

{if $products ne ''}

With:

{if $use_man_cat eq "Y"}

{include file="modules/Manufacturers/manufacturer_categories.tpl"}
{/if}
{if $products ne ''}

After adding this code it shows There are no available products under this manufacturer.

I want to display category and product also.

I cannot able to display product with your codes.It says There are no available products under this manufacturer.

Did you drop us an email yet? I'd do that as we have someone out due to surgery and that would be the fastest way. I can't really pass any questions easily from the forums to my staff.

Did you email us with this request? That is the best way to get support because then one of my 14 staff can help out rather than just me. I've been away for a mini vacation (saw the last Endeavour Space Shuttle Launch!).

Yes but cannot get any satisfactory results.I sometimes cannot understand it is a free mod but even cannot get any update for latest x-cart version !!!!

Also when I post some comments in this completed mod in forum you always said to send mail why??

Am I not expect help from forum for a completed mod??

It is a small modification that I post but yet not get any help !!!!

Learner, this is a free mod - quit giving Carrie grief, it is not her responsibility to provide you with the latest version of a FREE mod. She will do it when and if she has time and if we are lucky enough for her to do so - you have absolutely NO right to demand support for a FREE mod.

No you cannot expect support to be provided for free mods expecially if they were designed for older versions originally, unless developer decides to do it. And yes this is an open forum and everybody volunteer their own time or contributions. If anyone can or is willing to help with this they will but pushing it like this is not helping

Actually I post this requirements (bringing product in the manufacturer page) for a small modification for a long time.But cannot get help.It is really a good mod.I want some help from bcs to launch a new site with this mod.

It is really a good work to release this kind of mod.Ok I will wait from BCS according to their time.

This is ready for 4.4.x now. We didn't have time yet to implement the option of showing the products and the categories. If you want that feature please email us and we'll evaluate if there is enough demand for it.

This is a great mod. One issue I'm having is the load time. 32 seconds for a manufacturer page to load now. I have about 30,000 products loaded, so I could see how this would take awhile to query the database.

I realize that Smarty has built in caching capabilities, however I must be inserting them incorrectly.

This is the code I believe would be used, but I'm not sure where to enter it:

Can anyone help with caching of manufacturer categories? 32 seconds to load seems a bit much. Am I the only one seeing this kind of performance?

Has anyone successfully included the manufacturer products? I see many others were trying.

If you can't figure it out, drop us an email to support and let us know. X-cart changed a good bit between 4.3.x and 4.4.x (particularly with categories), so it may need to be updated. Just let the support people know I said we'd update it for you. ;)

I think its works fine i just want to remove the double links i get for both cat/sub-cat

I just want to see the categories and not the manufacturers name above every different cat. I hope this makes sense.. you can view the site im working on here

You'd want to edit the template for the manufacturer mod to not show it. The problem is it uses the same template to display this page:
https://www.spares4mowers.co.uk/Honda/
as well as this page:
https://www.spares4mowers.co.uk/Honda/?catid=249

So some logic would need to be in there to display the image above the one and not the other as I'm assuming you'd want the image on the first page.

You could probably do:
{if $smarty.get.catid eq ''}
Show image
{/if}

I want to lose the links in red

e.g.
Narrow your search
Categories to choose from
Honda, Blades, Honda, Filters,

is there an easy way to do this?

Hi Elton,

I see what you mean now. I think there would have to be some custom code done to remove those. Because they are actual categories the products live in, so the code sees those categories and displays them. It doesn't know they look redundant because they are the same name as the manufacturer.

If you'd like to drop us an email to support with what you'd like it to do instead we could quote customizing that for you.
