Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
But in x-cart admin -> product options, at the very bottom, you get a chance to write client side javascript. I am not sure if the javascript is stored directly in the DB or not. But they are product specific so I think they must stored somewhere, probably in the DB I hope. Do you know what I mean? If this cannot be copied, then I have to go in Admin panel and copy to each product, then it beats the purpose of using store manager.

Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Good remark Jc
We can include js copying into product copying procedure... but I feel this will lead to even more problems. Ok, please give us some time to investigate how people typically approach this. I welcome yout suggestions btw. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
copying product validation javascript will be implemented in next release
I welcome your other suggestion or problem reports if any! |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Just wanted to say that I looked into this program years ago and it seemed to be geared heavily toward oscommerce and then tweaked to fit the x-cart gold package... Now with the most recent release demo I have to say I really like the fact that x-cart pro features are supported (selecting vendors for added products, etc.) and after a few days of demo I am buying today with addons.
Thanks for keeping up the hard work on developing this much needed interface - I don't know how large stores work without something like this. |

Thank you for your kind words Jacob We are working hard in improving it and will keep doing this. Will have next release in few days with even more improvements. We always welcome your feedback, suggestions and feature requests. |

Certainly... and some hangups in the demo (having to reconnect the SSH for example after complaining it could not connect) resolved in the registered version... overall a nice product. I have created one bug request so far and will definitely have a list of suggestions as I go. It seems to me that the app does have a tendency to hang/lag a bit when working with the remote db directly, but I may try using the bridge and see if having a delayed/background processing layer helps in terms of performance. I wasn't hindered often - this usually happens when switching between sections. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Thank for your remarks - There's always room for improvement
I look forward to see your list of suggestions |
Store Manager for X-Cart new version released - ver. 2.0.3.567

Other significant improvements are: improved processing of variant items when editing, removing or importing variants, faster product import/export, support for additional languages, featured and related products and other changes.
We look forward to your feedback! |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I want to chime in here and give MagneticOne a thumbs up on this very useful tool. I downloaded a beta version a while back and then bit the bullet on buying the app a few months ago. I have been slowly walking through it to see how it would help me manage my 20k sku, 5k category site. It does provide some extremely useful features that no other application provides. The support team has been very responsive to my inquiries regarding additional functionality. The overall concept of the application is terrific and they seem to be kicking out releases quickly based on user feed back.
BTW my host is Qualiteam. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I still cannot get the FTP to connect, the persistent "Base Directory" Error. anyone else had that problem when they first installed it?
|
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Quote:
Keith, I saw both of your posts regarding this. I too had some difficulty with it due to Magneticone's terminology... You need to type out the "root directory path" where XCART is installed. this may vary depending on your installation and host. IE: httpdocs/xcart |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
It is installed in my Root
So I type my IP for FTP server Then in the base directory field...put /home/user/public_html/ ? Because that has not worked yet either... |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I've been seriously looking at this product for my virtual mall. Will this work in this type of setup? Also can i give licences to my vendors so that they can manage their products only using this software? Also is there an accounting component rather than just an product management component? How is the order management part of it?

It's just the thing you are looking for. We are working on improving order management part now. You are welcome to check out customer testimonials |

When is the estimated launch of this? Will there be any sort of accounting component to this package as well, as well as vendor/PO control? I think a lot of people would be interested in a package that would take care of the entire backend/accounting operation on their own computer. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
If you distinguish order management and accounting part - than order management is completely ready and works for 1-2 months.
What I mean saying order management: 1. List, filter, create/remove orders 2. export orders to csv/excel - including custom format 3. Advanced search (really advanced) 4. send email on order status change (i.e. process orders from store manager) 5. Order editing (add/remove products, recalculate etc) 6. Reports on orders, including ability to create custom reports 7. Import orders Accounting (integration with existing acc software): Is in progress now, 95% done for initial beta, will be announced a bit later. Should come as final version in early 2009. Let me know if you have any other questions. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Curious how this will translate to 4.2 (for those who have already purchased for previous version ala 4.1.11)? I presume it's not quite ready for this, but is there any timeframe in mind, and/or upgrade path for existing users? thanks
|
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I process credit cards manually and use store manager - but unfortunately it doesnt display the card details on the orders so I still have to use the webpage admin to get these details - am I missing something or is this meant to be excluded ?

Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Am I missing something or is this product painfully slow? It seems to hang on every click of the mouse and a simple export of 10 products takes about 5 minutes.
Has the demo version got the hand brake left on? |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I found exactly the same problem.
Money wasted for me, just too slow. |

Something is wrong Paul Most likely with database connection (happens on busy shared hosts) I welcome you to contact our support at support@xcart-manager.com with your problem and connection details to have this resolved. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Quote:
MrSoft As I mentioned - please contact support. As easy way to solve this yourself, for those who prefer to avoid support - configure Store Manager to work via PHP-MySQL Bridge, it will use local database and connection problem will not affect your work. We look forward to your contact in any case. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Just tries with the PhP bridge and performance is much better - GOOD!
I also have a preference for working on a copy of the data not live data in any case so this works well. Unfortunately, when I export product data into a CSV file, now matter what I use as the delimiter, the data is "wrappring" in the excel file which is making the export file not usable (which doesnt happen in the normal x-cart x-port) has anyone else had this problem and resolved it? does anyone use this for quickbooks (australian version) integration for orders or products? and finally is there a way to have say orders information using live data while haveing product information using the bridge? |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Quote:
You can also try to work via ssh tunnel to work with live data, can have problems with mysql server dropping connection all time, again depends on server configuration. You can try troubleshooter to handle this yourself. See "Quote string values with" option. For detailed support questions you are welcome to contact support@xcart-manager.com As to Australian QuickBooks support - please try to use it, we don't have australian versions to test with, but will make all the changes to make it working for you. The Beta status is made for exact cases. Right now the single connection mode is possible - i.e. you connected one way or another. You can use shortcut to quickly change the connection mode manually when you need it - most likely you are not importing/managing products all time. And again - complete solution will be to contact your hosting, asking them to reconfigure database server to prevent dropping connections all time. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Quote:
Thanks for that. I must say using the bridge it works well and the advantage is that you are not working on live data. I get the sense that it only updates the changes, rather than upload and download the entire database, is that correct. So, so far we are looking good. The thing that would make this fly for me to use it in my business is the integration with Quickbooks, Australian versions - even just for the pushing out of data from x-cart to quickbooks rather than both ways. Who should I contact about this and how can we make this fly? regards Paul |

Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I just installed trial version and I have some questions:
1.How can I view the creidt card number of the order? I looked everywhere but I could not find the credit crad number. 2. How can I update status? For example I have an order and its status is "Failed" but I want to change it to "Queued". There is a button called "Update status" but it does not do anything. I am using Windows XP by the way. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
You cant view card details for security purposes - but would be good if you could
To update status simply select the order from the list - click update status and choose the new status... unless this feature is disabled in the trial version ? |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
Quote:
Nivag in previous post is just right - thanks! 1. You can't, it is encoded by xcart. Security measure. 2. Right mouse click on order, Update Status. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I am still testing store manager and it looks like very useful software
1. OK. It would be nice if I can process order in store manager with linkpoint and authorize.net 2. When I right click on order and choose "Update status", it does not open a window for me. I am using 2.4.0 (Build:620) on Windows XP. 3. I only see 1 detailed image. If the products have multiple detailed images, how can I view all of them? |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?

Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
just a quick question...
if you have multiple 3rd party add ons installed will it affect the store manager or the site in anyway? after i update my cart to 4.3 i will be seriously looking into this product |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?

Hi Phoenix Tech Store Manager was specially designed to work with modified databases. It will show "additional" database fields as regular input fields - so you will be able to edit them. If you have additional database tables created by third-party addons - it has special tool to work with it as regular database table (list, sort, edit, filter/search etc). Specific addons won't be directly supported by Store Manager. Your additional questions are welcome. Also - it makes sense to download demo/trial asap and give it a try - it can take minutes to start and save you hours every day. |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
i will download the demo later today,
will the store manager be compatible for version 4.3 that will be coming out now in july? |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
yes it will be compatible with this and future versions of X-Cart
You will be able to download updates free of charge for 6 months, after that there is small optional fee to download future updates, or just use the version you have without additional charges. This way we always keep it compatible and always improving You can find information about prevoius updates here |
Re: MagneticOne Store Manager -- anyone got it?
I downloaded the trial version quite some time ago, but could never get the Quickbooks plug in to work (I use QB Canadian version). Someone from tech support emailed me a plug in they said should work, but after installing it I still get errors when I try and connect to my QB file.
Since then, I have had a few emails from MagneticOne asking my for opinion, did I have any questions, etc. Each time I responded about the problem I had - also saying I would buy this product if they could help me to get the demo working properly. No response. I sent at least 5 requests, and no one seemed to care that they've just lost a sale. |
