Purchasing the software is not an excuse or licence for bigotry in this forum.

Banning should be applicable when someone has stepped outside the bounds of acceptable behaviour (i.e. demeaning comments generated at other users of this forum and PAYING X-Cart customers).

What is the X-Cart policy on acceptable Forum behaviour?

snorocket 07-09-2003 05:09 PM

We're a PAYING xcart customer

We're PAYING xcart customer, and a very good PAYING xcart customer, probably in the Top Ten category, so i doubt they would ban us, as a matter of fact, we're looking for a few more licenses so if anyone out there is selling any Xcart Gold licenses we'll buy them, all of them, all, serious inquiries only please.

rrf 07-09-2003 10:50 PM

Snorocket,

Access to this forum is not included in the list of services one receives when purchasing X-Cart. You can see nothing about "access to the forum" on the X-Cart Gold/Pro product page (http://www.x-cart.com/ecommerce_software.htm). Also, please pay attention to the Terms & Conditions of this forum (you have agreed with these conditions when you were creating your forum account). This forum is supported by our company for free. Even ones with no access to the commercial support can access this forum. Even ones with access to the commercial support can be banned from forum if they act offensive to other forum users. There are thing that you can't buy.
We do welcome you as a customer, but the forum community does not seem to welcome you as a forum user. So, we do ban you from this forum, as there were enough warnings.

genekurtz 07-09-2003 11:07 PM

OK then...I guess that answers that. It is amazing how far we feel our money can take us sometimes. Well then...I guess I will step up and say that I will buy licenses now (hey...if he is not here anymore I will gladly step up to the plate on that one since I have been doing this lately anyway. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it) if anyone decides to give it up. Just PM or email me with what you have (I hope I don't get swamped now with like 100 licenses or anything). I AM glad to see that the forum has limits of what can be considered acceptable by society's generally accepted morals and principles. Thank you for keeping a shred of human decency at least. There are times when people will disagree on topics as in the way this thread progressed but there is a point when people can step over a line from a viewpoint that really harms no one to a point that this went in personal attacks on groups of people in general.

I will step down from my soapbox now.

inVINCEible 07-10-2003 12:16 AM

How 'bout them invoices? :wink:

shan 07-10-2003 02:56 AM

Ok then,

maybe we can get back to the job at hand now.

inVINCEible : could you maybe repost your mod to a clean thread and we can leave this one where it is

Shan can I make a suggestion here. There seems to be a number of more experienced users on here who have been creating x-cart commercial mods and services, how about a "Commercial 3rd Party X-Cart mods" area?

It's different from the professional services as it would be a forum purely for posting *specific* mods you can buy from the authors. Means we can all see what is actually available. I know funkydunk has a number of fixed price mods available, as no doubt yourself, invincible, myself and kpayne all have things we could contribute to that kind of area.

There should be a posting format for it though so the authors HAVE to mention what versions of x-cart the mods will work on and what possible effects they can have on upgrades and so on.

Just a thought, as there doesn't seem to be a central resource for that type of thing yet.

There seem to be be some decent mods available to buy when you dig through the thousands of posts and look through related user websites.

adpboss 07-10-2003 04:52 AM

Now that is a great idea!

inVINCEible 07-10-2003 11:37 AM

I think so too. :)

I mentioned this same subject 2 pages ago in this thread. "No respect I tell ya!" :D

I think that would make it easier for people looking for fancy pants stuff as well. They have a central point to go and look for it.

funkydunk 07-11-2003 12:10 AM

This has been requested of xcart forum admin.

snorocket is no longer banned

We have just removed the ban from Snorocket. We do not like to ban anyone. And, as Snorocket says that he will not longer post offensive messages, there is nothing that prevents us from giving him back access to this forum. However, we will ban permanently anyone who does not respect the forum community and continues to post offensive messages after being banned once.

I would like this forum to be a place where X-Cart users help each other. I would like it to be a friendly place, not a terrarium. There are a people of lot of different religion, races (and possibly even sexual tastes :) here).
We all are humans and let's respect each other.

A variation of Austin's Noack's mod to work on x-cart 3.5.4

A variation of AustinБ─≥s mod to work on x-cart 3.5.4

What I did was take Austin NoackБ─≥s mod can re-vamped it to work with x-cart 3.5.4 This is a first release of this mod. Not all 3.5.4 functions are in it yet. Read the "Read-First.txt" file in the zip file for more info.

ThatБ─≥s basically about it. Nothing fancy but it works for me. YouБ─≥re free to use or abuse my version of the mod however you please. Just let me know if you make it better. I may want to see what you did to it or even use it myself.

And as always if you use this mod: Б─°I am not responsible for anything you screw up or looseБ─²

Hi

Anybody know how to to get it to call a different set of templates when i click the 'print invoice' button so i can still keep my emails as plain text?

This works with 3.5.4 and should work with 3.5.5

Make a copy of the original /skin1/mail/order_invoice.tpl and the /skin1/mail/order_data.tpl. Rename them to order_invoice_email.tpl and order_data_email.tpl.

In the order_invoice_email.tpl make this change the line near to bottom of the file.
Quote:

Change the line
{include file="mail/order_data.tpl"}

to

{include file="mail/order_data_email.tpl"}

Next edit the skin1/mail/order_notification.tpl as follows.

Quote:

Change the line
{include file="mail/order_invoice.tpl"}

to

{include file="mail/order_invoice_email.tpl"}

Place all these files in the skin1/mail folder and you should be good to go.

Hi all,

I'm using Anoak's invoice mod, but I'd like to allow the customer to print this out at the time of completing the order. I thought I'd be clever and just nick the bit of code from the admin screen that allows us to print it out when we send the goods, but it won't allow the customer to print (presumably because they aren't an admin).

Anyone have a way of doing this, because at the moment, IE6 custs off the right hand side of the page and makes it look really scruffy.

Cheers

Dave

pengrus 04-24-2004 09:29 AM

I would like to add this Mod into the latest X-cart. But I have question:

Since this is made as HTML email, what will show up if the receipient's email is NOT html enabled? Is there a switch to detect this and make a selection of delievery format?

What is the latest version that works with this?

Thanks!

daveb1 04-27-2004 04:58 AM

Hi

Anyone give me a hand with this please?

My Product Options show up as one long line, but the pics earlier in the thread show each option on separate lines. The line of code in question seems to be
Code:

<td width="42%" height="30" valign="top" colspan="2"><font face="Tahoma">{$products[prod_num].product_options|replace:"/n":"
/n"}</font></td>

which looks like it should produce a line break, but it definitely doesn't.

Anyone know how to make the line breaks appear? It's on the 3.5.3 cart.

Cheers

Dave

Ok, this should be easy. In your code, every time you use "/n" it should be "\n". Try changing them to \n as follows:

Code:

<td width="42%" height="30" valign="top" colspan="2"><font face="Tahoma">{$products[prod_num].product_options|replace:"\n":"
\n"}</font></td>

That should do it.

jeremye 04-29-2004 09:16 AM

Just implemented the invoice mod and it works great! Thanks!

daveb1 04-29-2004 11:38 AM

Thanks Jeremye... worked like a charm!

xcart_invoice for 3.4.14 version

Someone has modified xcart_invoice for 3.4.14 version?

Many Thanks.

Josц╘ Williman

jeremye 05-03-2004 08:02 AM

Josц╘,

I am running 3.4.14 and I didn't have to modify anything to get it running. You should be fine.

Jeremy

jeremye 05-03-2004 08:04 AM

I made a few customizations to this after I noticed that this custom order invoice does not display discounts and/or coupon code (gift certificate) discounts. In /skin1/orders/invoice.tpl, I added:

Code:

{if $order.discount gt 0}
  <tr>
    <td width="600" height="1" colspan="5" bgcolor="#E1E1E1">
    <p align="right" style="margin-right: 5"><font size="2">
    Discount:</font></td>
    <td width="92" align="left" height="1" bgcolor="#E1E1E1">
    <font size="2">{include file="currency.tpl" value=$order.discount}</font></td>
    <td width="314" align="center" height="1"></td>
  </tr>
{/if}
{if $order.coupon_discount gt 0}
  <tr>
    <td width="600" height="1" colspan="5" bgcolor="#E1E1E1">
    <p align="right" style="margin-right: 5"><font size="2">
    Gift Cert.:</font></td>
    <td width="92" align="left" height="1" bgcolor="#E1E1E1">
    <font size="2">{include file="currency.tpl" value=$order.coupon_discount}</font></td>
    <td width="314" align="center" height="1"></td>
  </tr>
{/if}

Put that immediately before:

Code:

  <tr>

    <td width="600" height="1" colspan="5" bgcolor="#E1E1E1">

    <p align="right" style="margin-right: 5"><font size="2">

    Shipping:</font></td>

    <td width="92" align="left" height="1" bgcolor="#E1E1E1">

    <font size="2">{include file="currency.tpl" value=$order.shipping_cost}</font></td>

    <td width="314" align="center" height="1"></td>

  </tr>

That will only show the discount or gift certificate if one exists. It tested fine for me.

Jeremy

jignacio 05-03-2004 08:55 AM

Many thanks jeremye.

All the best.

I'm assuming if i keep the files as is, the store will display TEXT invoices, and if i add the new files and rename them to file_email...the emailed invoice would be html based.??

just doing the opposite of what you posted above.

ETInteractive.com 05-25-2004 05:29 PM

I set HTML mail option On.

I created "order_data_email.tpl" and "order_invoice_email.tpl"

put htem in /mail/html

I also edited order_notification.tpl to Call "order_invoice_email.tpl"

but when i get the order, its still using the Text based order_data.

What am i missing???????

DogByteMan 05-25-2004 08:21 PM

Man... I just read this entire soap opera... I mean thread. How in the world did I miss this one! [-X

Great mods guys I appreciate the hard work ! 8)

gardel 06-06-2004 03:07 PM

With a couple of very small tweaks (primarily to fit my vertical logo), this little hack works quite well.

Except ...

When someone makes a purchase and the invoice is presented on the page, the invoice breaks the page (way too wide) and it all looks horrendous.

Ideally, I would like to present the invoice after purchase exactly the way it was in the default install, but to email and print the invoice with the custom hack. The hack is installed, I just want the Order Processed page to go back to the original format.

Any pointers where to look?

DanUK 06-07-2004 06:30 AM

This hack is great except I think I've buggered it up a bit :roll: . I downloaded the 3.5.4 version of this hack, but before uploading the modified order_invoice.tpl and the order_data.tpl, I followed preston's fix for sending plain text email using copies of the existing templates (as I want to keep that). The Order invoice now comes out fine on screen as I would expect, yet I'm still getting html formatted email. HTML email is turned off FYI!

All I did was:

Quote:

Make a copy of the original /skin1/mail/order_invoice.tpl and the /skin1/mail/order_data.tpl. Rename them to order_invoice_email.tpl and order_data_email.tpl.

In the order_invoice_email.tpl make this change the line near to bottom of the file.
Quote:
Change the line
{include file="mail/order_data.tpl"}

to

{include file="mail/order_data_email.tpl"}

Next edit the skin1/mail/order_notification.tpl as follows.

Quote:
Change the line
{include file="mail/order_invoice.tpl"}

to

{include file="mail/order_invoice_email.tpl"}

Place all these files in the skin1/mail folder and you should be good to go.

..before uploading the two replacement 3.5.4 invoice mod files.

Any ideas where I might have botched up?

Thanks

Dan

DanUK 06-08-2004 02:48 AM

OK, I hadn't given the email templates a .tpl extension :roll: . It works now apart from the "Order Receipt" email is in html...I'll have to look further into this.....

Dan
