I'm having the exact same problem that TL408 is having. Mine hangs too. Even if I export the sample products and try to reimport the file unedited it still hangs.

As long as we're wishing for features, here's mine: How about FEDEX shipping that actually addresses residential, rural and extended area shipping, all standard and often-changed charges for Fedex? Put in fields in the shipping configuration under the fuel surcharge for:
- signature fee - adult signature fee - Residential fee: - Rural fee-residential - Rural fee-commercial - Extended Area-commercial: - Extended Area-residential: - Extended Area-Alaska-commercial: - Extended Area-Alaska-residential: - Extended Area-Hawaii-commercial: - Extended Area-Hawaii-residential: that can be updated using the admin interface. The 'rural' and 'extended area' fees would be calculated by accessing lists of zip codes provided by FedEx, and we could add a field to the customer account for residential: yes/no. Plus an updated interface that allows for the new rates to be uploaded, since the current one won't work with the new Fedex layout. I spent every single support point I had being told 'we're sorry, but we won't change the Fedex module so that it accurately calculates postage, but you can have that custom programmed'. The site claims 'live shipping' for Fedex. Right now, there is no way without re-writing the module to calculate: 1) Residential vs. commercial charges 2) Rural commercial and residential charges (though there is a 'what is rural?' comment in the code) 3) Extended area charges for continental US, Hawaii and Alaska. My client called me last week to inform me that the 'live shipping' on X-cart for Fedex undercharged by $12.00 for a Hawaii shipment, despite my having configured my shipping zones according to recommendations by X-cart. As it stands, if you ever ship outside city, commercial locations, you run a very real risk of inaccurate shipping. My client has elected to run all their charges manually, so they can log onto FedEx to check the shipping for accuracy before billing the customer. If they have to do that, why have a Fedex shipping module at all? Because of this, I've moved on for my future e-commerce needs to another vendor that understands that accurate shipping rates are crucial to online business. A shame, because I otherwise very much like X-cart. Their programmers are friendly and easy to work with, and their support staff was very helpful whenever I asked (except for not being able to get me to an accurate FedEx module - and that isn't supports' fault, but a programmer oversight) I'm hoping, though that this will be addressed in this next 4.x release...... |

The dragging is really neat. Easy in and easy out just make sure you got the proper size shirt. But, it may be a bit too late to incorporate in 4.1.x In any event the basket in constant view at the bottom is a very nice feature. Philippe |

Here is another error.
In the "Export" scrren, when you click you "View last export LOG" it will generate the error below. Access denied ! You are not allowed to access that resource! Error ID: 62 |

X-Cart 4.1.0 beta 2 customer invoices
Is their anyway to have the customer invoice itemized, showing separate prices for product options and separatly list and price any optional items added on.
As it is now everything is lumped together at one price. :roll: :arrow: ALSO: Mastercard and Visa will not protect the merchant if the merchant ships a product to an address other that the billing address.........You WILL get charged back without recourse if ship your product to a different address. We do Not! That is why we would like to see the "ship to a different address" option made optional in admin. |
For the next beta version, I would like to see an option switch where you can disable the "SKU value must be unique" setting. So it would allow the same SKU value for different products/items?
On automotive application, my product/item name is the vehicle make/model/year. However, one specific part can fit on more than one vehicles. So there are items with different names (make/model/year) but actually the same exact part with the same SKU number. This is why I need the ability to assign the same SKU value to all of these items. Additionally the issue mentioned above would also cause problems if you have products from different manufactures that happen to use the same SKU/Part numbers. This is especially true for products that only has 4 or 5 digits for SKU/Part number. And there are so many manufactures have part numbers with only 4 or 5 digits. Thank you -Tuan |

VARIANTS can we add a list price here too so that any discount is relevant 22" tv - weight = 20kg , list price = 100 , our price = 75 26" tv - weight = 30kg , list price = 150 , our price = 100 30" tv - weight = 40kg , list price = 200 , our price = 150 40" tv - weight = 50kg , list price = 300 , our price = 200 PRODUCTS MANAGEMENT LIST why not add the list price as an option there too as well as for sale price. also allow for the product title to be updated intead of just having it as a link HTML CATALOG its ok but why not offer a mod rewrite version as standard SEND TO FRIEND MODULES put send to friend as a module instead of an option hidden in general settings also add a message field too and check if a message exists and replace it instead of the standard one that gets sent out IMAGES IN FILESYSTEM you dont say where they go to now. put some sort of note there CREDIT CARD TYPES still not multi language MEMBERSHIP LEVELS maybe add the minimum and max order values here instead and include a basic option that is customer where you can only adjust the min max order value / amount EDIT TEMPLATES maybe make the edit box bigger WELCOME TEXT / TERMS / STD THINGS maybe make a section where all the things that are set up on every store can be done from one page. make life easier for people who wont dig around for them SITE MAP surely you should have one of these as standard STATIC PAGES allow categories, if you do this then your on your way to having a basic CMS system in place STATISTICS have the option when you first hit this page to NOT use them. they fill up the database and most people never use them anyway. SKU IN PRODUCT TITLE still there, how many more people are going to ask how to remove this. just put it in the product details list. While your at it put the list price there and the saving % there too lets just loose that start from the right hand side and put that info somehwhere better RECOMENDED PRODUCTS / UPSELLING add an option to show these as text links or something useful. make a template the shows an image, the price, add to cart button etc NEWSLETTER make a better subscribe / unsubscribe page CHECKOUT yes its getting there excuse the tone of this post, not meant to be harsh just picking at things and spitting them out |

Please make sure the searches are NOT case sensitive - in 4.0.x, if my customer types in "aquarius", NONE of my 30 Aquarius products show search results!

X-Cart 4.1.0 release?
Is there a target date for general release? I know that you don't want to promise a date that's not realistic, but we are currently revamping our website and need the variants with photos & wholesale prices before we can go live.
If you could give us at least an estimate, then we can fit it into our development timeline. Without that knowlege, our entire project is on hold. Thanks! |

I would like to see a cancel button for the import feature. You have an option to continue when importing new products, but none if you just want to cancel the import.

On the checkout page, there should be a checkbox for I have read and agreed to terms and conditions... that must be checked before the customer can place an order. For some reasons, the admin login is not working for me. I have reinstalled x-cart, checked my permissions, nothing worked. I have it installed on a local server running Suse 10.0, Apache 2.0, MySQL 4.1, PHP 5. Thanks for any help. |

When I set a "Payment method discount" (Check > Extra charge: > -3.00%) in "Payment methods" than the "Payment details" in Example-1 are not correctly.

Even then, I would personally wait another ~6 months for more updates before upggrading my live store. But then again, that's just my personal opinions. Take it with a grain of salt. :) |
Improvement Request for Checkout Process
To integrate the "Payment Method" page together with the "Payment" page. This would reduce another unnecessary page that the customer has to load. (This is definitely not rocket science at all. Ability To have Indiviual shipping charges per Item

A great feature that I know is very possible as there's module add-ons for this but what really would be useful would be the ability on each product added to define a shipping charge per product within the standard x-cart installation. I.e When adding a product there would be a Postage/Shipping option to specify a price and then a destination to assign the shipping to. This could work by using the same principles when adding product variants. So you could assign different shipping costs based on location using drop downs and input boxes. Postage Cost: [ бё2.00 ] Destination [ United Kingdom ] Postage Cost: [ бё4.00 ] Destination [ Europe ] Postage Cost: [ бё6.00 ] Destination [ USA ] This could be at the bottom of "Add a Product" page and would sit very nicely. |
While many requests that people are asking for valid.
I just think that x-cart should definiely prioritize and dont even bother releasing something that doesnt have the 1) checkout 2) the search feature done right. Both these essential features, as of right now i would rate close to the worst I have ever seen in a cart. Then if they want to shoot for some other stuff, integrate the shipping API and merchant API directly into x-cart back end. |
