hey GM
I want to purchase a support ticket from you to fix the convoluted issue you mentioned |
I PM'd you pwd88. I haven't had time to package this mod for sale. I was waiting to get out of the google sandbox before I did, however, we rank #4 out of 126,000,000 for "gold" , #2 out of 44,398,442 for gold jewelry and top ten for just about any other jewelry related search term on MSN. No matter how you look at it, IT WORKS! (because of how robots spider a site) but I would like to have all the facts in before posting it.

Hi GM
I'd be interested in the mod as well. I've got 37,000 products and html catalog is a real pain re:the // Robert |
It's gonna' take quite a while... The mod is finished but I am waiting on other factors.

HTML Catalog
Hi,
I have been using x-cart 3.5.x since last year. it installed in it's own directory. I have been able to generate the HTML Catalog and move all of thh HTML Files to the www root and all of the page links would change accordingly. I just upgraded to 4.0.13 and it DOES NOT change the links for me anymore when i move the files. The links point to the xcart/catalog directory. I am trying to play around with the HTML_Catalog.php file to make it generate dynamic links. if anyone has been able to correct this, please share. I am not sure why x-cart changed this... , and my client is losing a lot of money because i deleted all of the previous catalog pages before moving over the newly generated ones with the broken links... and my butt is on the line... thanks. Joel x-cart 4.0.12 |
Well, I purchased a mod for $49 that will create the catalog in the www root. It really wasn't a problem the way i did it before, just an extra step. Now, i don't really have much of a choice since x-cart changed that portion of the code.
It would still be nice to know why X-cart decided to make the links all static in stead of relative. I don't see any reason to make them static, personally, but i assume that there was some significant reason. X-Cart guys - if you are reading this, would you mind sharing with us why you coded the links to become "static" as opposed to "releative" in the html_catalog.php file ? Thanks, Joel x-cart 4.0.13 |
Hi mate

Hi: The Root HTML Generator is from us at CartsnTools.com. Thanks Mate for purchasing our product! Our Root HTML Generator has been used by many our clients and proved to be a very successful X-Cart mod. The Generator process is integrated into the HTML catelog. It automaticly creates HTML files in your web root directory everytime you run HTML catelog, no extra work needed. The installation only takes about 5 minutes and adds one line code into one of your XCart files to call our script. So your code will be very clean and the XCart upgrading will not affect its function. |
I have installed the Root HTML Catalog mod and it works fine.
I do have a question. I have created my own pages in root including index.html, about.html etc etc. Is it possible and how would one go about changing the generated file (index.html) to another name such as shop.html with none of the links broken from the generated files that x-cart has created. I haven't actually renamed the file, I was thinking somewhere in the code that could be changed. |
ROOT HTML CATALOG for Xcart gold 4.1
Well I just upgraded our site to xcart 4.1
and now ROOT HTML CATALOG will not work. I get this error Fatal error: Cannot redeclare func_mkdir() (previously declared in /home/tntdance/public_html/store/admin/html_catalog.php:123) in /home/tntdance/public_html/store/include/func/func.files.php on line 660 Can any one help? Thanks, Tom |
Hi Tom:
If you got it from us, it should work fine on this version of Xcart. Please let me know and I will help you to find out. Michael |
Have you all gone mad?
in xcart/admin/html_catalog.php change Code:
define ('DIR_CATALOG', '/catalog'); to Code:
define ('DIR_CATALOG', '/'); Then regenerate the catalog (use '/' as the catalog path). That is all you need to do! |
ROOT HTML CATALOG
Well it worked great with xcart 4.0.18 but when I upgraded to xcart gold 4.1 I got that Error.
I made sure my permisstions are set to 777 and the files to 666 Do you know any one that is using it on the new 4.1 xcart gold? or is there a update? Tom |

Seems like your tring to redefine an existing function, on one of the function declerations I would use: Code:
if (!function_exists('func_mkdir') { To prevent the error, or simply remove one of the older functions. |
ROOT HTML CATALOG for Xcart gold 4.1
Boomer.
do you mean if I edit "func.files.php" with this code if (!function_exists('func_mkdir') { ... } it should allow root html to work on xcart gold 4.1 Tom |
Reading thru this, I haven't seen anyone else asking this... When the html catalog is generated in the root, you then have two index files, one .php, one .html. Ok, now, when I tried this, it works fine when I go into the store with a freshly opened browser. I start shopping, pick out an item, go to checkout, then login..and have the cart contents listed on the screen.
BUT say I decided I wasn't ready to check out yet and decided to keep shopping, and click on my logo at the top or the "Home" link at the top.... I'm taken back to the HTML index page, and over on the right, it treats me as if I am not logged in... If I follow up with adding another item to the cart, it jumps back to .php and see's me as logged in again. Though I know whats going on, it might be a little bit confusing for a customer at this point. Anyone else seen this or have a workaround:?: Thanks! :) |
Well, it was our host ipowerweb the server had all kinds of bugs.
put me in hell for over a week thinking I did somthing wrong. All is good after I have them move us to a new server. Thanks Tom  |

ahhh.. another ipowerweb sufferer.... Just left there a week ago with what sounds like the same server you were on... I can honestly say I would never recomend that hosting company for anyone using xcart or any other shopping cart software..... They might be sufficient for posting your family photos on a static page, but for real time shopping cart action... not a mistake I will make again. Run far, run fast, and don't look back..... |
Yang, just looked at your site.
Whats the sexytetki virus link thats on it??? http://www.cartsntools.com/XCart-Skins-for-XCart-40X-K2R-p-16133.html |
It seems some one had changed the files and it is fixed.
Thanks |
