it is advertised as you can change that but there are no instructions in the zip that refer to it.

Ooops just realised that the sight of a mans bottom might offend - sorry but I will be selling mens underwear.

Just noticed something that I might get the developer to change, i think my idea makes more sense than it's native way.

currently it displays every review as an individual so if you have two reviews of the same item it displays two thumbnails and two reviews.

I think it would be more visually friendly if it showed one thumbnail and each review for that product to the left of it.

so rather than it being like this

It should be like this

Dunno what do you think? can you see a disadvantage for doing it this way, I just think it will cut down on the amount of pages of reviews and make it neater for the customer.

rjcbear 09-20-2004 09:13 AM

I asked Alex to develop that that way the reason been it was easy to program and the othere thing is it's using the customers name for every review.
Now If that can be accomplish it will be better now that you mention.

Let me know if they can do it.

How is this mod working out for you guys? Looks great. But what happens if there is a bad review or if there is more than one review for a product. Does it still show both and two thumbnails, or is there a way to have it only show one of the reviews with one thumbnail? I am very interested! Thanks guys!

cotc2001 01-06-2005 02:08 PM

its seems to work well.

if there is more than one review for a product then it duplicates the thumbnail and shows it as a seperate view (hence my post above that it would be better collate all reviews for one product into one area on the same page).

I do get a lot of people looking at the page so I would say it does what it says on the tin.

If there is a bad review then I tend to leave it in, as long as there is no foul language because we want to have honest reviews, it's no good if all your reviews are glowing because it doesnt represent a true view.

A better soloution would be that it would email the site admin when someone places a review for the product and it places it in a holding queue but that is more something that should be built into x-cart by default rather than as somebodys 3rd party mod.

I second the idea of sending and email to the admin. I love that mode is great and there is alot of sales from those items in my site.

Kind regards,
Ricky
