You also need to account for the span around the image to fully display the border. See this post for more information.

Thanks for the help gb2world. I was going to look at the span tonight thanks to firebug but you save me the trouble.

So it look like in your skin1/customers/main/subcategories_t.tpl file you need to find

Code:

width: {$subcat_div_width}px;

and change it to this if you want to have a 3 pixel border

Code:

width: {$subcat_div_width+6}px;

Hi Needlejig,
I am running 4.3.1 version and I use Flyout menus. I've placed your code in /main.css but it didn't work. Also I tested in /modules/Flyout_Menus/Icons/main.css it didn't work either. Would you advise?
