Any luck with this yet? I've been trying for ages to find a way at least to display a random product in the shopping cart but couldn't find a good one :(

I'm using WCM's ezrecommends with a couple of mods.

When the cart is empty, several products are shown at the bottom of the cart page. On step 1 of the checkout, recommended products are also shown, based on the cart contents' linked products.

I think that ezrecommends is the best way ahead to achieve this.

Jon at WCM made a couple of mods for me as well, may be worth mentioning.

Note:
I tried Personal Recommends by WCM first, but it is only fully compatible with v4.1.8 still a good product tho..

I am still thinking on it. I think there are some mods out there that might work.
I would like to see the recommended products tie in to the items purchased but there is a lot of work in that, it might work quite well instead if just random ones.
I'll have to look at ezrecommends and a few others as well.
