Myself and Jim K have already paid and got this underdevelopment, we requested that X-cart include it in all future releases.

So you'll be happy to hear it'll be in the next version. Or at least that's what x-cart team have agreed to!

Ok the image modification requested is now in x-cart 3.4.3 and it's miles faster than the image.php method. :D
