I am having the same problem,
Can someone please help with the complete mod code and instruction? Thanks |
Hi,
I'm having a different problem with this mod... parse errors. Having loaded up the new script, I'm seeing this when executing a search: Parse error: parse error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /**siteurlgoeshere*/xcart/search.php on line 34 It looks to me as if it's the very first occurence of the '=' symbol that is causing the error... any suggestions? Those posting most recently and having problems should make sure that they are replacing the search.php file in the /include directory, not the one that is one directory level higher.
This mod has been a great help to me, but no good deed goes unpunished - is it difficult to get it to apply the simple search string to the manufacturers as well? For example, I have a product called ABC by manufacturer XYZ . If the user enters ABC in the simple search, it will find it, but if they enter XYZ, they get 0 results. I hope that that doesn't sound unappreciative - this mod is a boon to those of us suffering from the shortcomings in the original search function. |
I dont' know if i'm doing anything wrong.. but i replaced my whole search.php file in /shop/include/search.php with the lasted post with that contained the whole code...
When i do search.. it bring up EVERTYTHING from my site... if not everything.. close to it.. |
This search is great, I have been using it for a couple of months now. I have noticed that some of my customers are searching for products by the SKU. I have seen other sku search modifications on the forums, but none seem to work with this 4.0.16 modified search. Does anybody know how to change this to search by sku?
Thanks |

Did you back up the file? If so, upload the old original file and start over. If you DID NOT!, then download the cartware again from your login and then take it from the original zip file and upload to server. Also, note that there are two locations where the search.php file are located. Do Not rework the wrong one by mistake. This could cause realo issues as well. |
This mod was working for a little while for me, but now i'm getting lots of irrelevant results...any ideas what could have changed this?
