does any one know if I do a clean install of 4.2.x, and customize the store. Will there be a script to make the database work with the new store.

OR

is is possible to imports the product,customers and orders into the new store.

I'm sure there will be eventually be a upgrade script, but 4.2 is beta, meaning it is not recommended for a live store. That doesn't mean that you can't customize the templates to get the look you want. You will just have to wait until it is released as "stable" to use it.

I know that it is still in beta.

I was just hoping to do a clean install, and upgrade the database because the upgrades process does not always work well.

Yes.

Earlier in this thread xplorer said that there will be a database upgrade script and that actually will be the only way to upgrade from a 4.1 branch store. There will not be a patch/diff style upgrade to go from 4.1 to 4.2.

Does anyone know when this version will be officially released? I installed it but I was not impressed, still close to 4.1 versions. No new important features.

The CSS template and pre-auth/capture features are worth it by themselves IMHO.

I don't know if it is me or not, but I noticed that 4.2 seems to be quite a bit faster than 4.1.

Has anyone else noticed this?

We have decided to delay the released date for a couple of weeks in order to fix several minor bugs and rewrite portions of manual.

I would appreciate if you clarify what features you are looking for. Thank you!
