Re. Alteredcart.com's One Page Checkout, the version I have which is Checkout_One_v1.5.0, I could not get it to work correctly with x-cart version 4.4.4
During the checkout process it would just loop and loop for products that were $0.00 in price and it would not let me checkout. It use to work just fine in previous versions of x-cart and I did love it when I had it installed. If you purchase his current version I am sure it will be okay and work just fine.

Are these the only files that were changed from the version that I downloaded in late August? The only changes I see are related to Socialize and Wibaya.

The smart template was updated to v4.4.4 shortly after its release. Just those 3 files are changed.

Our new template is currently in development and will be available sometime this month.

Ive just purchased phil's mod well worth ever bit of money, top notch Phil fantastic mod, looks far more professions than i could ever develope and great touch the customer have the look they want..Install on V4.4.4 not came across any bugs...

The lack of complaints about 4.4.4 compatibility is confirmation that Smart Template 4.4.x is compatible. It's working great for me. Thank you.

Issue: I use http://pingdom.com to test speed of my site and to identify ways to speed it up. I see about 60 or 80 images that I have never seen before anywhere on my site, after using ST for 10 months. Why are they loading? Can you disable them to increase speed? I don't want to delete, because they'll throw a 404 error.

Some examples: /skin/smart_template/custom/images/icons/word.png. About 40 images in this /icons/ directory.
skin/common_files/lib/jqueryui/images/ui-icons_cd0a0a_256x240.png and similar images to /images/ui-icons...

Really minor issue: Checking "Display warning to unsupported browser users" displays the warning at the top of your template on the latest Chrome version, 14.0.835...

Hi can anyone advise on this please i am working on my new site using smart template v4.4.4 in folder /xcart

When i click on buy now button i get a page that says - if the page is not updated within 2 seconds click here...
Although the page does load easy within the time I can't understand why i get this page, if i just click on the picture or the title page loads without displaying this.

Ive checked on my current site v4.4.1 and it doesn't do it on there, can anyone help on this please.

a1deano, sometimes that can be caused by another third party module, or it could be down to the settings regarding the 'ajax add to cart' functionality.

Check in general settings...
"Update mini-cart in background on product list and product details pages"

Re. RSS feeds, contact me and I can sort you out with the code. to generate feeds.

Re. our new template, we are still working on it and hope to release within October, it really depends on work load, which often varies day to day.

Hi Phil thanks for your help i checked the 'ajax add to cart' and it was already switched on, but still doing it, the mods I have installed besides the smart template are -

Janrain engage mod

Without having to uninstall all of them any clues to which maybe the one causing the issue.
Ive tried switching various things on and off but not sure what could be causing the problem.

Something ive just noticed back end not sure if it means anything, when i click link dashboard i get a notice xcart news, but just below that i see something that says - "AJAX error :: Empty result :: 0" have attached pic

Instead of get a clean url - mysite/xcart/Celestial-Shooting-Star-Brief-Pink.html

I am geting this url below?

mysite/xcart/Celestial-Shooting-Star-Brief-Pink.html?mode=add&page=&is_featured_product=

Any help appreciated

Hi Phil

Small change as i hadn't really done that much work i decided to delete everything and start again, so have done a fresh install off v4.4.4 and the smart template.
I am not getting the problem now "if the page is not updated within 2 seconds click here..." but noticing still the clean url isn't quite right, if i click buy now button i get this url -

mysite.com/xcart/pink-brief.html?mode=add&page=&is_featured_product=

but if i click on item title or picture i then get clean url -

mysite.com/xcart/pink-brief.html

Does anyone now if this is right

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone is getting the same issue as me, using templates for v4.4.4
On main products pages I see the social buttons - Facebook, Twitter, google button, however if I click on Manufactures then I don't get the social buttons, am I missing a setting that i need to enable

Hi,

Looking for a template to transition my 4.1.9 to 4.4.4. I like the way Smart Template works as it looks similar to Themes in WP, and I am somewhat familiar with that. I have a few questions, though, as my layout for 4.1.9 has a custom look and feel.

Can the template colors be customized? Can the existing colors be template color schemes/graphics be customized as in different WP themes? For example, by season?

Can the logo be moved to the right instead on the 2 column layout?

Is the Newly Added a separate module or part of the template?

In checking the demo, there is no area for manufacturers. That is a must for our site. We have 53 manufacturers and growing. We also have over 50 categories and we do not use sub-categories, with very few exceptions. Generally, subcategories don't work for us.

Any suggestion on how to handle that with Smart Template?

Is the random product a separate mod or part of the template?

Is the optional product layout available to visitors (grid v list)?

Sounds like pingdom might be picking out all images from the CSS files, the majority of which, may not be served to the visitor, so I'm not quite sure how reliable that performance monitor is... I think the images in question are just icons that do not get used by default.

It is a template and therefore is somewhat left open for you to optimise yourself, that's not to say we haven't already optimised it for SEO purposes :)

I'd like to know anyone's SEO experiences with the smart template... Feel free to drop me a PM.

Anyone have any problems with this template not displaying properly in IE9?

When you click on a product, it doesnt display the description.


Works fine in fire fox.

Hi sylvester436, can you PM me your URL so I can take a look.

The template is entirely CSS based. Bear in mind that if your product descriptions are not well formed, ie. there's an unclosed DIV or SPAN element, it can break the layout. Quite often the WYSIWYG editors do not produce valid XHTML.

Yes those were my initial thoughts too with my first looks of the home page example. Then as I spent a little time looking at the template settings and theme designer the WOW factor really set in. It took months for me to get my 4.1.11 site's appearance the way I wanted. Should only take me a few days using "Ability". And... I won't have to mess with the CSS or other major template changes other than the installing of Ability.

Your site is what convinced me to go with Smart Template in the first place and why I've been following this thread. <-- Thank you!

This one has me baffled. I am trying to add some images in the middle cloumn of a 3 column layout. The images will be shown after the "New Products"

One large image on the top at 560px wide.
2 Smaller images it.

The questions are:
How do I get these all to align in the center of the column?
Where is the best place to add these images? In what template? I have tried the 3col template and the welcome template and can not get them to align in the center.

- If I have a category icon for a subcategory, this picture shows up on the top of this subcategory page inside the first box.

- if I don't have a icon or a description for this subcategory page, then the smart template just displays an empty box at the top.

1) So, how do I make it so the category icon does not show up on the top of the subcategory page (I just want the icon to show up in a list on the root category page). Also, if there is no category description, how do it get rid of the first empty box at the top.

Your demo looks like it works the way I want it to.

2) How do you change the number of columns that subcategories are displayed in? I've tried many settings in admin (when choosing to "display subcategories list in multiple columns") - The subcategory lists just show up one after another, in as many columns that can fit in each row. I can't seem to have just 2 or 3 nicely formatted columns.

Also I've seen a lot of facebook plugins going around on popular sites. e.g Ebuyer. I think you should implement one if you can.

Product Discussion - Seems good to get conversations going, I know you have your smart comments but it saves customers signing in or typing there email address etc etc as nearly everyone is automatically logged into facebook these days.

Also Social bookmarks module, you have one already but there isn't a Google +1 which would be helpful. I bought one from CMWebsite but it seemed to lag my site with twitter and the Google +1 not sure if it's been fixed yet.
