Re: X-Cart 4.2 beta testing

if you are using the master account it will ask you for password for some admin procedures. create new admin account. i guess this is new in 4.2 to make sure store admins don''t use the default master admin account

Why are you not allowed to use capital letters or spaces in user name now. In 4.1.x this was allowed. This will cause a problem when upgrading the database to be used with 4.2.x

Re: X-Cart 4.2 beta testing

The latest security patch changed it. Also, 4.1.11 doesn't allow it either.
See the posts beginning at #38 in this thread for more info..

Thank you for the info

Are upper case letters and spaces and special symbols a security risk?

Most people in the UK still use the County and Post Code on letters & parcels though.
Perhaps it would be better to have Counties as a user input field?

This is probably as good as you are going to find.

Re: X-Cart 4.2 beta testing

Having spent a long time investigating this issue, the more I am convinced that the Counties should be dropped for the UK. Every list I have come across on the internet contains errors or omissions.
I have disabled Counties for the UK in my store, they are not needed for Postal addresses by the Post Office any more.
