I had several privat messages about this issue, but not even xcart comes with a solution.

Please help us: WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO EDIT THE TEMPLATES FROM WITHIN XCART!!

Regards.

For some reason, the ownership of some of our directories were changed to "Apache Ownership", which caused us to not be able to change directory permissions.
I had to call our hosting provider and have the ownership changed back.

After doing that I haven't had any problems editing templates.

Herman,

I would imagine that anyone who's ever done any web development will not use x-cart to edit templates. Most of use will use a text editor linked to an FTP client. This tool should be the equivalent of a carpenter owning a cordless screwdriver. Yes, you can work without it, but why would you want to?

Easiest way is to just edit in an FTP client with a built-in editor like CuteFTP Pro

You are right. 4.2.x has been beta tested before the release.

Thank you for your ticket. The engineer is already investigating the issue.
